The Study Of Huang Yusheng’s Educational Thoughts

Huang Yusheng was a famous educationist in modern times of Tianjin.He was engaged all his life in education,successively served as the secretary general of Nankai University,dean of The Normal College of The National South West Associated University,director of the affiliated school of Normal College and director of Tianjin Library.He has unique views on higher education,normal education,primary and secondary education and library construction.His educational thoughts are rich in content,distinctive in characteristics and are of great value,and have profound influence on the development of education and culture in modern Tianjin and even modern China.At present,the research of Huang Yusheng’s educational thoughts in the academic circle is not sufficient and lack of deepth,which needs to be enriched and expanded urgently.Therefore,the study of Huang Yusheng’s educational thoughts can not only enrich the relevant research contents of Huang Yusheng,but also deeply explore the essence of Huang Yusheng’s educational thoughts,which can provide a certain historical reference for today’s education reform.This thesis adopts literature research method and historical research method to study Huang Yusheng’s educational thoughts.The first chapter mainly introduces Huang Yusheng’s life and education activities.The second chapter deeply analyzes the main contents of Huang Yusheng’s educational thought.The thoughts of higher education mainly includes the essence of university,the significance of university education,the construction of humanities and the moral cultivation of college students.The thoughts of normal education include tasks,courses,approaches,construction of teachers and cultivation of professional quality of normal university students.The educational thoughts of primary and secondary schools include moral education,harmonious development of body and mind,teacher management system and learning methods.The ideas of library construction mainly include the cultural value of library,the construction of library collection and the exchange and cooperation in library circle.The third chapter summarizes the characteristics and influence of Huang Yusheng’s educational thoughts.The characteristics are as follows: taking patriotism as the core spirit,governing school strictly the whole time,paying attention to the construction of teachers and the training of young librarians.The influence is: to promote the development of Nankai University into a well-known university,to promote the rapid progress of Yunnan primary and secondary education,and to promote the development of Tianjin Library into a first-class library.The fourth chapter discusses the contemporary value of Huang Yusheng’s educational thought,including cultivating college students’ sense of social responsibility,carrying out the integration of teacher education,strengthening the construction of teachers’ ethics,cultivating teachers’ sense of faith and responsibility,and giving full play to the cultural service function of public libraries.Through the study of Huang Yusheng’s educational thoughts,we can find the precious value.
