A Study On The Influence Of Consumerism On College Students’ Outlook On Life

Consumerism was born in the United States in the 19 th century,swept the western capitalist world rapidly in the tide of economic globalization.With the development of reform and opening up and the prosperity of socialist market economy,consumerism has emerged in our country and spread widely among college students.Consumerism preaches the consumption supremacy,the material desire to enjoy and so on thought idea and the life style begins to be popular in the university student group and is sought after by the university student,has brought the huge impact to the university student’s consumption idea and the consumption behavior,the university student’s outlook on life also inevitably receives the consumerism influence.As a special group of society,college students yearn for and like to pursue novelty.In the face of the invasion of consumerism,some college students often find it difficult to control their own consumption desire,and the tendency of bad consumerism such as symbol consumption,comparison consumption,advanced consumption and wasteful consumption in consumption is becoming more and more prominent,which has brought certain influence to’ outlook on life.Consumerism affects the correct life goal of college students,resulting in the lack of long-term life goals,the correct purpose of life is not clear,the purpose of life has the phenomenon of money worship and material desire tendency;consumerism affects the attitude of college students to life correctly,resulting in hedonism and pessimistic towards life;Consumerism affects college students to pursue correct life value,resulting in utilitarian tendency of life value,lack of self-centered life value and lack of social responsibility of college students,and college students’ outlook on life is deeply impacted by consumerism.The reason is closely related to the change of social consumption environment,such as the commercialization of mass media,the rise of network consumption and the introduction of credit platform.It is closely related to the content,mode and campus consumption atmosphere of college students’ consumption education.The value orientation of young people determines the value orientation of the whole society in the future.If consumerism rages on the campus of the university,the contemporary college students will not be able to grow up healthily take on the great task of national rejuvenation of Chinese Dream.To overcome the influence of consumerism on college students’ outlook on life,it is necessary for society,school,family and college students to work together to create a consumption environment for the formation of college students’ outlook on life,and then to promote the healthy growth and all-round development of college students.
