| In recent years, with the continuous advancement of our country’s economic construction and the continuous development of urbanization, the phenomenon of population mobility has long been commonplace, which is closely related to the resource conditions, industrial structure, and labor structure of the population outflow areas. However,China has a vast territory and large regional development differences. The specific manifestations of population mobility in different regions are also different. For Heishantou Town,a border village in northeastern Inner Mongolia, the phenomenon of population mobility and the formation of mobile communities have a long history.Due to a variety of factors, currently affected by ecological changes, livelihood changes, and changes in the concepts of borderers,a new form of mobility has emerged, that is,the seasonal population mobility of borderers returning from winter to summer. This type of phenomenon occurs in border areas.Seasonal mobility has its special features, and more problems associated with it have emerged from this.Based on a fieldwork in Heishantou Town,a border town, this thesis uses seasonal changes as a starting point to describe the history and current situation of population mobility in the town, describe the process and reasons of seasonal mobility, and analyze borderers’ mobility choices. To explore how the seasonal mobility of borderers affects the life of borderers, the development of villages and towns, and the social development of border areas when the flow space overlaps in Heishantou Town.In addition, this thesis will also clarify how the borderers’ behavior of defending the border is reflected while the mobility has been internalized into the lifestyle of the borderers of Heishantou Town, and use the seasonal characteristics reflected by the mobility to explain the pace of life of borderers in the border area and the frontier society. The pace of development responds to the current viewpoints on the hollowing out of border villages in border studies. Finally,it summarizes the characteristics of the seasonal mobility of borderers in the town, indicating that this mobility is the result of the rational choice of life and livelihood of borderers affected by seasonality, and emphasizes the influence of climate on the behavior of borderers, clarifying the emptiness in winter and the enrichment of summer,The floating borderers and their economic behaviors, cultural interactions and border defense behaviors are all important parts of the frontier social development. The ever-increasing connectivity and mobility,as well as the multi-ethnic groups, multiprofessional groups, culture and livelihoods that accompany the seasonal mobility is beneficial to the development of the border. |
