Post-activation Potentiation(PAP)is a physiological phenomenon in which muscle performance can be enhanced by muscle stimulation with maximum or sub-maximum weight in a short period of time.PAP can be affected by activation mode, exercise mode after activation, activated individual factors, activated load amount, load intensity and recovery time. This research aims at short-term effect of PAP on long-jump athletes,to reveal the influence of PAP on the sports performance of long-jump athletes. This study provides a new theoretical and practical basis for the application of PAP in long-jump field, and gives a new idea for warm-up and preparation activities of athletes before long-jump events.Eight men national secondary rank long-jump athletes majoring in athletics in Wuhan Sports University are selected as the experimental objects, applying three times of 80% 1 rm squats(1 minute intervals)activation methods to activate, measuring the special strength index(30 meters, standing long jump,CMJ height and peak power)and performance of long jump before and after activation of 4 mins,6mins,8 mins,10 mins,12 mins intervals. The results reveal that comparing the performance of long jump athletes after activation with before activation, the subjects of the long jump special strength test index and the performance of the long jump have significantly improved. The running speed of the long jump reflected by the performance of 30 meters has a significant increase among 4mins to 10 mins, while there is no obvious difference in 12 mins group, and the average increase in 8mins shows the largest. The take-off strength of the long jump reflected by the standing long jump performance is significantly improved among all the groups from 4mins to 12 mins, and the average increase of 8mins shows the largest. The take-off strength of the long jump reflected by the height of CMJ has a significant increase in all groups from 4mins to 12 mins, and the average increase in 8mins shows the largest. The take-off strength of the long jump reflected by the peak power of CMJ has a significant increase in intervals from6 mins to 12 mins, and no obvious difference in interval of 4mins,and the average increase in 8mins shows the largest.Long jump performance from 6mins to 10 mins there three intervals has a significant improvement, while there is no visible difference in 4mins,12 mins, and in 8mins interval, the average increase is the largest. From all mentioned above, after PAP activation, above indicators all increased significantly in three intervals from 6mins to 10 mins, and the performance of the above indicators all show the largest average increase in 8mins.Thus,it comes to a conclusion that the enhancement effect can improve the athletic performance of long jumpers, and the optimal recovery time is 8 minutes.Based on this conclusion, this study suggests that in the warm-up and preparation activities before the long jump, when athletes take three times of 80%1RM squat activation, they can take an8-minute interval as rest time before the competition or training for a better result. |
