| At present,the society increasingly presents the overall trend of complex group culture,diversified individual culture and single school culture.Under this background,the attempt of mining the symbolic meaning to form the school culture concept system has also been favored by more and more practitioners and researchers.However,this kind of school culture construction based on the development of symbol meaning is also faced with some practical difficulties,such as the difficulty of symbol selection,the superficial excavation of meaning,the abuse of symbols,the unclear characteristics and the obvious regional differences.Exploring its causes,reflecting on its gains and losses,so as to better release its significance,value and spiritual energy in the renewal and construction of school culture in the future,are the main questions that this paper tries to answer.Starting from the theoretical perspective of symbols,this study focuses on the symbolic meaning generation of school culture is an object with a celebrity of specific cases,the paper mainly discusses the following questions:(1)In some schools named after cultural and historical celebrities,their names,such as "Xia Yan" and "Mao Yisheng",have what special meanings and characteristics as a kind of symbol? Why "embed" such celebrity symbols in school culture?(2)How did the school explore and expand the symbolic meaning based on celebrities? How do these symbolic meanings penetrate into all aspects of school learning,life and management?(3)What are the characteristics of school culture based on such celebrity symbols as "Xia Yan" and "Mao Yisheng" ? What influence will it bring to teachers,students,schools and society?(4)What problems still exist in the process of generating school culture by relying on cultural symbols such as celebrity symbols? How to make better use of cultural symbols to generate characteristic school culture?To answer these questions,the study choose interview method as the main research methods.In-depth interviews were conducted with 50 school administrators,ordinary teachers,students and parents of the two selected case schools named by cultural celebrities with certain school cultural characteristics,supplemented by observation,video analysis,literature analysis and other methods,and multi-party data were used to enhance the representativeness of the cases and the credibility of the materials.The specific research is mainly carried out in the following steps :(1)Collected and analyzed relevant literature on the study of symbol theory,significance and school culture,and sorted out theories related to the research problem and purpose as the theoretical basis for the full text analysis;(2)Draft interview Outlines for different groups after pre-interview,and conduct formal interviews with 50 interviewees of different groups at the agreed time and place through the combination of one-to-one in-depth interview and group discussion.(3)Data sorting is carried out to mine the specific generation process of "symbol-meaning-culture";(4)Analyze and summarize the value and dilemma of school culture generated by cultural symbols as the carrier,analyze the causes,and put forward suggestions and countermeasures to better rely on the innovation of school culture.Based on related theory and school symbols and culture independent exploration practice case,this study draw the following conclusion: symbol concept and theory in some school culture construction has been invisible into,these schools by relying on its unique cultural symbols into material construction,system construction,curriculum construction,resulting in characteristic;By analyzing two cases of cultural construction of schools named by cultural celebrities,it is found that there is a common process in the generation of school culture based on symbols,that is,"symbol creation-meaning production-meaning exchange-meaning sharing".From the perspective of universality,the generation of school culture is a cycle of "people-symbol-significance-culture-human".Starting from the subject of "human",it uses all kinds of symbols to produce the most appropriate meaning,which is exchanged through continuous interaction in the environment,system and activities,so as to be recognized by the group as the shared meaning,and then condensed into the school culture,which constantly influences people.School culture based on cultural symbols has a variety of educational values at individual,school and social levels.It mainly includes real example guidance,quality ability shaping,concept value formation,symbol brand influence expansion,school-running characteristics formation,quality school establishment,traditional culture and regional culture inheritance,etc.However,as it is still in the exploratory stage,the generation of this culture is also facing difficulties.For example,it is difficult to excavate and select the symbolic meaning,to design and form the top-level culture,to participate in and cooperate with multiple subjects,and to reform and implement the new curriculum.Therefore,in order to promote the distinctive development of school culture and help schools independently generate a personalized road,the research suggests:rationally excavate a variety of symbols,close to the life of contemporary children;To absorb the participation of multiple subjects and seek efficient social cooperation;Relying on the curriculum to permeate culture and promote the value identification of teachers and students;Expand cultural development space,integrate regional culture to create brand,establish "one school one policy",promote cultural radiation. |
