| With the development of the economy and society,China’s service industry’s output value as a percentage of GDP has begun to surpass that of the secondary industry,becoming the industry that has contributed the most to economic growth.At the same time,the service industry has rapidly increased the number of jobs and has become the industry that absorbs the most jobs.The “industrial economy” transforms to the “service economy”,and the service industry has gradually become the “main engine” of China’s economic development.However,the labor productivity of the service industry in China is far behind that of the secondary industry,which makes research on labor productivity of the service industry more advanced As an emerging technology,the impact of artificial intelligence technology has begun to receive widespread attention from the academic community.Therefore,this article studies its impact on labor productivity in the service industry from the perspective of artificial intelligence technology,and explores new ways to improve labor productivity in the service industry.Based on the theory of technological innovation,human capital theory and factor reallocation theory,this paper discusses the mechanism of the impact of artificial intelligence technology on labor productivity in the service industry from three aspects: the direct effect of artificial intelligence technology,the mediating effect of human capital and factor allocation.This article believes that artificial intelligence technology has a substituting effect,auxiliary effect and the ability to create new jobs in the service industry,which in turn leads to the direct effect of artificial intelligence technology on the labor productivity of the service industry;in terms of human capital,artificial intelligence technology will induce manpower Capital investment,through the impact on human capital,artificial intelligence technology has an impact on the labor productivity of the service industry;in terms of factor allocation,the application of artificial intelligence technology will cause changes in the capital and labor factors of the service industry,and affect the level of factor allocation in the service industry.The impact,which in turn affects the labor productivity of the service industry.This paper constructs a parallel multiple intermediary effect model and uses panel data from 31 provinces and cities in my country from 2004 to 2018 to conduct empirical tests on direct effects and intermediary effects.The empirical results show that artificial intelligence technology has a direct positive promotion effect on labor productivity in the service industry,indicating that artificial intelligence technology has significant substitution and auxiliary effects;the mediating effect of human capital and factor allocation is also significantly positive,indicating artificial intelligence technology The induced human capital investment has increased the level of human capital.It also shows that the service industry capital investment and labor mobility caused by artificial intelligence technology obviously play a positive role in the allocation of factors,and both promote the improvement of labor productivity in the service industry;Among the effects,the mediation effect of factor allocation has a greater promoting effect,indicating that factor allocation is more sensitive to the application of artificial intelligence technology,and the role of human capital investment needs a long-term manifestation.This article also finds that there is a difference in development stages between direct effects and mediation effects,that is,with the improvement of the application level of artificial intelligence technology,mediation effects have begun to replace direct effects as the main influence method.In addition,this paper also tested the heterogeneity of direct effects and mediation effects,and found that there is significant heterogeneity.The direct effects and mediation effects in the eastern region have greater promotion effects than the central and western regions.Finally,according to the research conclusions,this article puts forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions such as increasing the application of artificial intelligence technology in the service industry,focusing on high-end talents,improving education and skill training,improving the efficiency of factor allocation,and reducing regional differences in artificial intelligence technology. |
