The document "Modernization of Chinese Education 2035" points out that the state should pay attention to the cultivation of students’ cognitive ability.As one of the important factors of cognitive ability,critical thinking has been widely established as the training goal of primary education.Homework as an important means of teaching,its fixed mode,simple repetition and excessive arrangement may hinder the development of students’ critical thinking.Previous scholars neglected other factors when studying the relationship between homework and critical thinking,and there were very few studies on the moderating effect of teachers’ creative teaching behavior.This paper intends to investigate the correlation between homework and critical thinking of junior high school students and the moderating effect of teachers’ creative teaching behavior on the correlation between homework behavior and critical thinking of junior high school students.In this paper,more than 800 junior high school students were investigated by using the Homework Questionnaire and the California Critical Thinking Questionnaire.By using quantitative research methods and analyzing the survey data,the results show that:(1)The overall level of critical thinking of junior high school students is low,among which the score of intellectual curiosity is the highest,followed by self-confidence,desire for truth,maturity,systematic ability,open-minded thinking,and analytical ability.(2)Junior high school students’ critical thinking has no significant difference in homework preference,but has differences in homework time,degree of completion,accuracy,effort and planning.(3)Middle school teachers’ creative teaching behaviors(including learning guidance methods,motivational stimulation,viewpoint evaluation,and encouragement of flexibility)can play a moderating role in the relationship between homework and junior high school students’ critical thinking.(4)In order to verify the moderating effect of teachers’ creative teaching behavior and find an appropriate intervention program,this paper intends to conduct an intervention experiment based on the self-designed teacher innovation training program.The results show that:(1)The innovative training scheme for teachers is reasonable and effective for creative teaching behavior.(2)The moderating effect of teachers’ creative teaching behavior on homework and critical thinking of junior high school students was supported by the intervention results.Based on the research results,this paper suggests:(1)In order to cultivate the critical thinking mode of junior high school students,teachers’ teaching behavior should be innovated and teachers should be urged to assign homework scientifically.(2)To promote the transformation of teaching ideas into teaching behaviors,and to improve students’ critical thinking while paying attention to academic achievements.
