| Since the 18 th CPC National Congress,General Secretary Xi Jinping has delivered a series of important speeches with instructions on the construction of the faculty,and the Party,the country and relevant ministries have issued a series of policy measures accordingly.All these released a strong signal that teacher’s education has ushered in a golden period of high-quality development,which in turn puts forward higher requirements for the reform and development of local normal universities and colleges.Whether qualified teachers could be trained to adapt to the development of elementary education and whether the school’s ability could be continuously improved to contribute to local economic and social development and make an “advanced mark” for the new era are urgent theoretical and practical problems that need to be studied and solved in depth for local normal colleges.Focusing on the theme of high-quality development of local normal colleges,this paper takes two local normal colleges in northern Jiangsu as an example,following the ideas of “discovering the problem,raising the problem,analyzing the problem and solving the problem”,with research methods of literature research,questionnaire,interview,case analysis,etc.,to analyze the state quo of the high-quality development of local normal colleges and also the problems that arose,and on the basis of which,puts forward relevant strategies and suggestions for the high-quality development of local normal colleges in order to provide reference for local normal colleges to promote highquality development to a new stage.Firstly,based on Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening the Construction and Reform of the Faculty in the New Era and Accelerating the Implementation Plan for Modernizing Education(2018-2022),China’s Modernization of Education 2035 and other policy documents,this paper explores the basic connotations of high-quality development from three dimensions,namely,talent cultivation,scientific research and social service,and analyzes the structure of high-quality development from internal and external factors that affect high-quality development,in order to make a clear definition of the connotations and characteristics of high-quality development.Secondly,combining with the practice of questionnaire surveys and interviews in two local normal colleges in northern Jiangsu,this paper analyzes the views and suggestions on high-quality development among teachers and students in local normal colleges and points out the existing problems and their causes in the process of the high-quality development of local normal colleges.Thirdly,with the application of transformation theory,regional higher education development theory,and higher education diversion theory,this paper puts forward some relevant strategies and suggestions for the high-quality development of localnormal colleges from national and local government level and school level respectively.For national and local government level,suggestions are,for instance,improving the quality development system and mechanism of local normal colleges,increasing the funding for local normal colleges,and improving the status of teachers and establish the identity of teachers;For school level,it’s advised to further clarify the school orientation,optimize the mode of talent training,reinforce the construction of first-class majors and first-class courses(gold courses),build a team of high-level faculty,strengthen the scientific research with the characteristics and characteristics of normal colleges,enhance the ability and level of guiding and supporting local economic and social development,especially the development of elementary education. |
