In the digital age, digital technology expands the traditional physical learning space to a digital learning space that integrates virtual and reality, accelerating the arrival of an era with learning as the theme.Museum learning in this era has inevitably affected by digital technology, presenting new connotations and new features with the characteristics of the times.Based on theoretical speculation and field research, this article explores the connotation, current situation, problems, causes and optimization countermeasures of museum learning in the digital age.The full text is divided into four parts in addition to the introduction and conclusion. The first part is an overview of museum learning in the digital age.Museum learning is a spontaneous and open learning method. This learning takes place in various museums related to science, technology, culture and art.A series of interactions between learners and museums are a process in which learners’ knowledge and abilities are changed.Museum learning in the digital age has its own distinctive features:one is a learning environment that integrates virtual and real;the other is a hybrid learning method between online and offline;the third is open and shared learning content;the fourth is diversified learning results;the fifth is enrichment of museum learners and instructors.Museum learning in the digital age has become an important force to promote the development and progress of museum and organizational changes, enhance the vividness and innovation of learning, and promote public education reform. The second part is based on the survey results of the Hunan Museum, presenting the current situation of museum learning in the digital age from both cognitive and practical levels. At the cognitive level, the public believes that the effective integration of digital technology and museum learning has become an inevitable trend, but the integration of technology and museums must adhere to the educational and cultural nature of the museums. The status quo at the practical level is relatively complicated:digital technology has effectively developed and expanded the learning content of traditional physical museums’online and offline hybrid learning methods have become the main method of museum learning;the integration of digital technology and museum learning has both advantages and disadvantages on the effect of learners;digital technology has made the target group of museum learning services more popular, but mostly concentrated in the youth group;museum instructors have become diversified. The third part is to analyze the problems and their causes of museum learning in the digital age based on the questionnaire and interview data. The problems of museum learning in the digital age are mainly manifested as:the public still lacks the cultural habit of integrating technology and learning;the popular group of museum learning is limited;museum learning content shows a trend of homogeneity and capitalization;museum learning methods lack humanity and Interactive experience;the external support for the integration of technology and learning is lacking. The main reasons for these problems are:the periodicity of the integration of technology and museum learning;the deviation of the public’s perception of museum learning;the impact of technology on the physical and cultural nature of museums;insufficient communication and interaction between museums and audiences; The software environment has yet to be improved. In the fourth part, aiming at the problems and causes of museum learning, optimized countermeasures are proposed from two levels of theory and practice:reflecting on the essence of the integration of technology and culture;determining the boundaries of the integration of technology and museum learning;innovating the practice method of museum learning;improve the software environment for museum learning.
