The "Comprehensive Practice Activity Curriculum Guidance Outline for Primary and Secondary Schools" points out:Comprehensive practice activities are an important part of the basic education curriculum system.They are interdisciplinary practical courses that start from the real life and development needs of students and cultivate students’ comprehensive qualities.However,the current teaching methods of comprehensive practical activities in primary schools are relatively single,students’ interest is not well stimulated,and students’ comprehensive abilities cannot be effectively cultivated.As a new teaching concept,STEAM education advocates practical,interdisciplinary,and innovative concepts that are compatible with the goals pursued by the comprehensive practical activity curriculum,and can provide a new way to cultivate students’comprehensive quality.Therefore,this research integrates STEAM education and elementary school comprehensive practical activities,and carries out teaching design and practical research of elementary school comprehensive practical activities based on the STEAM education concept,aiming to improve students’ interest in learning while cultivating students’ comprehensive literacy and promoting students’ all-round development.First of all,this study uses Y Primary School in Yinchuan City as the research base to conduct questionnaires and interviews with teachers in this school to understand teachers’ awareness of STEAM education,STEAM course offerings and teachers’ STEAM literacy,and conduct a questionnaire survey on students to understand their current situation.The learning interest and comprehensive ability in the comprehensive practical activity class,according to the survey results,the necessity of integrating the STEAM educational philosophy into the Y primary school comprehensive practical activities;secondly,analyze the goals,resources,and resources of the primary school comprehensive practical activities that incorporate the STEAM educational philosophy The design concept of the process and evaluation refers to the STEM interdisciplinary project design model compiled by Professor Yu Shengquan,and proposes the teaching design process of this study based on the characteristics of the comprehensive practical activities of elementary schools;finally,the STEAM education is confirmed by combining the school-based characteristics of the comprehensive practical activities of Y primary school The main line of teaching practice activities based on the concept of "tree culture" theme,try to appropriately incorporate technology and engineering ideas into the design of comprehensive practical activities,select "Underwater World" as a case to show in detail the implementation process of the activity,and lead the students to cooperate in small groups.Forms create works,and finally through teacher interviews and analysis of student survey questionnaire pre-test and post-test data to investigate the implementation effect of the teaching activity.The practical results show that in the comprehensive practical activities based on the STEAM education concept,students can flexibly use the interdisciplinary knowledge they have learned to improve their problem-solving ability,and their learning interest,scientific inquiry ability,engineering design ability and technical application level and other comprehensive abilities All have been improved to a certain extent.Thus it is concluded that the teaching design and practice of comprehensive practical activities based on the STEAM education concept is feasible and effective for the cultivation of students’ comprehensive ability.
