Background:With the continuous enhancement of China’s comprehensive strength in politics, economy, culture and other fields. The international influence of China’s education is also increasing. The number of international students in China has increased rapidly in the past few years. At present,China’s influence in the field of international education is increasing, and it has become the third largest destination country in the world and Asia. With the significant increase in the number of international students in China, the cross-cultural adaptation problems of international students in China have become increasingly prominent. There are many problems in the cross-cultural adaptation of international students in China that need to be resolved urgently. Therefore,we will conduct research on the cross-cultural adaptation of international students in China, and explore the internal mechanism of cross-cultural adaptation of international students in China. So as to have a deeper understanding of the cross-cultural adaptation of international students in China. And the targeted proposal of a scientific and effective intervention system that meets my country’s national conditions has become an urgent need of the times. Objective:According to ecological psychology theory. This paper investigates the psychological adjustment,socio-cultural adjustment and academic adjustment of international students from an integrated and systematic perspective. The intercultural adaptation of foreign students in China is analyzed from the perspective of ecological psychology. To explore the internal mechanism of intercultural adaptation of international students and the internal regulating effect model. To have a deeper understanding of the problems of cross-cultural adaptation of international students, reduce the problems caused by cross-cultural adaptation of international students, and better adapt to the Chinese environment. Methods:This research first collected and sorted out the relevant literature on key concepts such as ecological psychology,cross-cultural adaptation of international students in China, problems of psychological adaptation, and social and cultural adaptation issues through literature analysis.Secondly, based on literature reviews, expert interviews and other methods, construct a multi-factor theoretical framework for cross-cultural adaptation, using the depression self-rating scale, sociocultural adaptation scale, academic adaptation scale, social support scale, adultattachment scale, and self-esteem The scale surveyed 396 international students from Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Jiangsu University. Finally, use SPSS23.0 to complete data descriptive statistics, reliability and validity tests, correlation and adjustment model verifi cation, etc.Use AMOS22.0 to complete the construction, analysis and intermediary effect test of the structural equation model.Results:(1)The psychological adaptation of international students in China is measured by the depression index, the average depression index is 0.54,which is a mild degree of depression;the coefficient of difficulty of social and cultural adaptation for international students in China is 0.43,and the difficulty of social and cultural adaptation is general;the degree of difficulty of academic adaptation for international students in China is 0.37,academic adaptation is a bit difficult.(2)There is no statistical significance in the total score of psychological adaptation between the gender and age of the international students in China. There was no statistical significance in the time of coming to China and the level of Chinese(P>0.05);The influence of gender, age.time in China and Chinese proficiency of international students in China on the total score of psychological adaptation of international students is not statistically significant;(p>0.05);gender,age and time in China are social and cultural adaptation of international students in China There are statistically significant(p<0.05)in the scores of Chinese language proficiency in the social and cultural adaptation of international students(p<0.05);gender,age and time in China are not statistically significant in the academic adaptation scores of international students(p>0.05),the Chinese proficiency has a significant difference in the academic adaptation scores of foreign students(p<0.05).(3)There is a significant correlation between academic adaptation, attachment anxiety, and self-esteem among international students in China.Self-esteem played a mediating role in the relationship between academic adjustment and attachment anxiety.among international students in China, academic adaptation, psychological adaptation, attachment anxiety and self-esteem There is a significant correlation between them.Self-esteem and attachment anxiety play an intermediary role between the academic adaptation and psychological adaptation of international students in China;there is a correlation between psychological adjustment, academic adjustment,self-esteem and social support. In the relationship between academic adaptation and psychological adaptation,self-esteem and social support play an intermediary role.(4)Psychological adaptation, social support, and attachment closeness are significantly related;social support plays a mediating role in the relationship between depression and attachment closeness;self-esteem regulates the first half of the mediating role of the mediating model that affects depression through attachment closeness.Conclusion:(1)This study uses mature scales recognized by experts at home and abroad.Through the analysis of the reliability and validity of the scales used in this study, the structural equation model testing and fitting indicators all meet the specified requirements.(2)In the current situation of the cross-cultural adaptation of international students in China, the level of psychological adaptation of international students in China is slightly unsuitable, social and cultural adaptation is generally difficult, and academic adaptation is somewhat difficult.(3)Self-esteem plays a mediating role in the key path of cross-cultural adaptation for international students in China, and the relationship between academic adaptation and attachment anxiety.Self-esteem and attachment anxiety play a mediating role between the academic and psychological adjustments of international students in China.Self-esteem and social support play a mediating role in the relationship between academic adaptation and psychological adaptation.(4)In the cross-cultural adaptation adjustment model of international students in China,self-esteem plays a moderating role in the path of social support affecting psychological adaptation.
