Under the context of higher education internationalization, the introduction of international academic talents equipped with professional knowledge and global vision,is becoming a crucial step towards the construction of university internationalization. In recent years, represented by “One-thousand Talents” project,Chinese government has launched a series of talent introduction policies, which lead to large-scale and systematic high-level overseas talents introduction, and attract abundant foreign experts to conduct academic research within Chinese universities' organizational culture. However,as promoting the internationalization of China's academic innovation system, foreign experts are also facing a series of problems caused by cross-cultural adaptation. This research focuses on foreign experts' cross-cultural adaptation experiences under the context of Chinese universities' organizational culture.Through in-depth interviews on 21 foreign experts working in Shanghai's “985””211” universities, this research conducts deep analyses on the existing problems in foreign experts' cross-cultural adaptation process, their coping strategies and influencing factors. The results indicate that the hierarchical management model, the lacking of supervision system and other problems block foreign experts' cross-cultural adaptation process to some extent;the features of international scholars and Chinese universities' organizational culture together determine foreign experts' cross-cultural adaptation mode and coping strategies. This research aims to raise practical suggestions based on current talents introduction and allocation policies,in order to help them adapt to Chinese academic and sociocultural context more specifically, which has significant meanings for optimizing China's talent introduction policy and facilitating international academic communication.
