Social Work Practice Research On Improving Disease Perceptions In Female Breas Cancer Patients

Abstract/Summary:
In recent years,the incidence of breast cancer in China has been rising and getting younger,although modern medical technology has greatly improved the survival rate of breast cancer patients,the lack of understanding about cancer still leads to "scary when it comes to cancer".From disease diagnosis,means that patients need long-term in the face of breast disease,treatment and rehabilitation process,when in a state of illness,patients may need pay attention to their own condition and want to understand the etiology,prognosis of disease and healing effect and so on knowledge,without proper knowledge and information about the disease,patients will become excessively worried about the disease,appearing unreasonable cognition and irrational emotional experience,resulting in fear,and anxiety of the bad mood,in addition,they are denial,and unwilling to face the facts of the disease,and often cope with the disease by the means of surrender and patience.,in the long run,these negative emotions and coping styles will aggravate patients’ wrong cognition of the disease and form a vicious circle,which will affect patients’ emotional experience,ability to manage the disease and sense of control over the disease,namely,decreased perceptions of the disease,and eventually lead to the decline of patients’ quality of life.This research focus on the status quo of disease perceptions in breast cancer patients in extra-mammary department of Yunnan Province Z Hospital Breast surgery,attempts are made to use professional social work methods to serve 35 patients in hospital,using the way of questionnaire,interview and observation to collect data and evaluate patients disease perceptions,analysis of patients with negative perception of disease problems and causes,and according to the Self-regulation theory,Cognitive Behavior theory and Social Support theory for the guidance of social work professional services.First of all,scientific disease knowledge is explained for patients through health education lectures.In this process,three patients with poor disease perceptions are given individual intervention.In the service process,patients’ negative perceptions of the disease is improved through case counseling combined with connecting patients’ volunteers and community education and other services.Through the effect evaluation,it is found that the disease perceptions of the three interventional service objects have improved to different degrees in terms of cognition,emotion and behavior,respectively.Therefore,the intervention of social work improved the patient’s disease perceptions.
