According to the statistics from Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China,the number of students studying abroad in 2019 reached 703.5 thousand,and the number of students coming back to China reached 580.3 thousand.Besides,60% of the students studying abord applied for bachelor degrees,and 60% of which are studying in international schools in China,who have become an important component of the primary education.Just like the other students,the students studying in international schools are the hope and future of our country,and need the attention and care from educators and society as well.However,due to various educational levels between international schools and the scarcity of international schools comparing to public schools,some students have to leave their hometown and study in an international school in a different city alone,leaving their parents working and living in hometown.And because of the difference of academic atmosphere,culture and living between international schools and public schools,normally these students lack of the care and custody from family for a long time,which probably lead to their maladjustment of the study and living in their international schools,and lack of learning motivation,and abandonment on themselves,and even psychological problems.Therefore,figuring out an effective method to stimulate the learning motivation of international students is quite necessary and meaningful.Social work is a practice-based profession and an academic discipline that help human to help themselves,and social work has always been a positive role in promoting students’ study and growth.From the perspective of social work specialty,based on the theory of social support and the theory of superiority,this study discussed the feasibility of the method,which uses case work to stimulate the learning motivation of students from international schools.Starting with the personal system,school system and family system,the writer specifically analyzed the influence factors of the lack of learning motivation of the victim.Furthermore,on the basis of needs analysis,the writer helped the victim to set specific service objectives,and helped the victim to accomplish the service objectives.At the end of the case,the victim enhanced his self-recognition,changed his bad learning habit into good ones.Finally,the learning motivation was successfully stimulated under the encouragement of his parents,the company of his schoolmates and the recognition of school teachers.The research came to conclusions as below:1.Case work is feasible in stimulating the learning motivation of students from international students;2.Case work could inspire the potential and individual initiative of students from international students;3.Case work could effectively develop the social support resources around students from international students;... |
