| Parenting style refers to the emotion,attitude and concept that parents show through relatively stable behavior intermediary in the process of educating their children.Aggression behaviors refers to the intentional physical and mental harm to others,that is,physical attack,verbal attack,anger,hostility,etc.Every sentence,every activity,every expression in the eyes,even invisible psychological world by parents will imperceptibly affect the children.Among the influencing factors of students’ aggressive behaviors,parents have crucial roles to play in the family environment,the upbringing attitude and the upbringing concept that surround and nurture the children.The parents’ words and actions,and even bad habits will be branded on the children’s hearts.It follows that the parenting style plays an important role in the external performance and personality shaping of children,and is related to the development of children’s physical and mental health.The study used stratified random sampling,taking 391 students in Grade 1,Grade 2 and Grade 3 of a secondary vocational school in Lianyungang City as the research objects,The Chinese version(S-EMBU-C)parenting style questionnaire revised by Jiang Jiang(2010)et al and Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire,revised by Guiming Luo(2008)were carried out.The study is divided into two parts:questionnaire(study 1)and case interview(study 2).The findings show that:(1)At the level of parental education,there were significant differences between the over-protection dimension in Father’s parenting style and the emotional warmth in Mother’s parenting style(p<0.05).(2)There were significant differences in physical attack and hostility factors(p<0.05).Boys’ physical attacks were significantly higher than girls’ while girls’ hostility was significantly higher than boys’;speech attack factors were significantly different in gender(p<0.01)and girls was more prominent than boys;physical attack and anger were significantly different in grade(p<0.05).Physical attack,verbal attack,anger,hostility factors showed no significant difference in age(p>0.05).(3)There is a significant positive correlation between the parenting style and aggressive behaviors of secondary vocational students.There was a significant positive correlation between physical aggression and parental refusal and over-protection;verbal aggression was positively correlated with parental emotional warmth and with parental over-protection and mother’s refusal;anger was positively correlated with parental refusal and over-protection(p<0.05).(4)The negative emotional warmth of parents had a significant negative predictive effect on the physical aggression of children;positive predictors of verbal aggression by mothers’ over protection;positive predictors of anger by mothers’ refusal;and significant positive predictors of hostility by mothers’ protective dimension.(5)Case study shows that observational learning is the main way,their children’s behavior acquisition children in family situation,through the observation between my parents and my parents to deal with interpersonal relationship with others,for their handling of peer relationship and various behavioral responses,including aggression,performance in the processing of peer relations. |
