A Case Study On Mental Health Education In Rural Model High Schools

With the development of the society and the reform of education,quality-oriented education has become the focus of our country’s school education.As an important part of quality-oriented education,school mental health education has attracted much attention from the country in recent years.therefore,many school began to carry out psychological health education work.This study is based on case study of Xishui No.1middle school,a provincial model high school in rural areas,and deeply investigate its mental health education work by preparing questionnaires 、 interview outline and attending class,in order to understand the achievements of Xishui No.1 middle school and analyze the reason for its achievements,and then,provides reference for other schools.At the same time,this paper analyzes the shortcomings of Xishui No.1 middle school’s mental health education and puts forward the optional countermeasures so as to promote the further development of mental health education.The results show that :(1)Xishui No.1 middle school has made a series of achievements in mental health education: diversified mental health education activities,de-learning mental health courses,characterized home-school cooperation,and effectively implemented psychological counseling;(2)the reasons why school has achieved many achievements: the attention and support from the school leaders and government,the improvement of teachers’ mental health awareness,the support from parents and students,and the guarantee of the basic conditions;(3)the shortcomings of school’s mental health education work: the propaganda work of mental health education needs to be strengthened,the timeliness of teacher training needs to be strengthened,teachers’ mental health needs to be valued and discipline penetration needs to be strengthened;(4)counterplan to optimize the work of mental health education: strengthen the publicity of mental health education,strengthen the training of teachers,pay more attention to the mental health of discipline teachers and strengthen discipline penetration.
