College students lack of physical activity,Internet addiction and other bad lifestyle is an important cause of modern civilization disease, will further lead to a variety of physical discomfort.Skeletal muscle pain is one of the symptoms of physical discomfort. It is also a typical noncommunicable disease, which has received great attention in the field of preventive medicine. This study aims to provide empirical evidence for improving college students’ health awareness and lifestyle by thoroughly understanding the mechanism of college students’ physical activity and Internet addiction as well as skeletal muscle pain. After excluding the interference factors of major organic diseases, disabilities, mental disorders and visual and auditory disorders, this study took 4258 randomly selected college students as the analysis objects. The relationship between physical activity,Internet addiction and skeletal muscle pain was analyzed by using the methods of literature, questionnaire and mathematical statistics, using the international physical activity scale,Internet addiction scale and skeletal muscle pain scale as survey tools, and using statistical software for data processing. The results showed that:(1)male college students are significantly higher than female college students in smoking, drinking, physical activity and Internet use time, while female college students are significantly higher than male college students in non-smoking,non-drinking and mobile phone use time(P < 0.01).(2)there were significant differences in smoking, drinking,Internet and mobile phone use time among college students in different physical activity groups(P < 0.05).The higher the physical activity, the lower the Internet and mobile phone use time.College students with different degrees of Internet addiction showed significant differences among each group in their parents’ educational background, physical activity, sleep quality, drinking status,Internet and mobile phone use time, and depression tendency(P < 0.01).The first three variables decreased with the increase of Internet addiction degree, while the last four variables increased with the increase of Internet addiction degree. The top five spots for skeletal muscle pain were upper and lower backs(34.0%),shoulders(34.0%),neck(29.2%),knees(14.1%),ankles and feet(14.0%).(3)according to multivariate logistic regression analysis, physical activity was found to be less than 1 in the OR value and CI(95%)of Internet addiction, while the OR value and CI(95%)of Internet addiction and skeletal muscle pain were both greater than 1,and both were significantly correlated(P < 0.00).Through statistical analysis of variables and t values in the multiple linear regression analysis and the adjusted R2,it was found that physical activity was inversely related to skeletal muscle pain, which was significantly related(P <0.05).(4)the values of each coefficient in the structural equation model indicate that the fitting index has a good fit.The absolute value of c ’in the mediation model(0.22)is less than the absolute value of c(0.29),indicating that the physical activity level plays a part of the mediating role as a mediating variable. The mediating effect of physical activity on the relationship between Internet addiction and skeletal muscle pain was further confirmed.Research conclusions:(1)physical activity level is negatively correlated with Internet and mobile phone use time of college students,Internet addiction level is negatively correlated with college students’ parents’ education, physical activity level and sleep quality, and positively correlated with alcohol consumption,Internet and mobile phone use time and depression tendency. The high incidence of skeletal muscle pain in college students is in the shoulders, neck, upper back and lower back.(2)the physical activity level of college students is negatively correlated with Internet addiction, while Internet addiction is positively correlated with skeletal muscle pain.Low physical activity level will lead to the occurrence of skeletal muscle pain.(3)there is a significant mediating effect between physical activity and Internet addiction and skeletal muscle pain, which can play an effective regulating role.
