The meaning of life is the value unity of the existence of human natural life,spiritual life,and social life.It is about the values and ideals of individual life.It is the spiritual support and inexhaustible motive force for one’s survival and development.The meaning of life education is an educational activity that shapes the life values of the education objects.It aims to guide the education objects to recognize and explore the meaning of life,and help students to establish correct life value goals and ideals and beliefs.Life significance education is an important part of the ideological and political education system,and it is also a necessary means to achieve the goal of ideological and political education.Strengthening the education of the meaning of life of college students will help promote the formation of correct views of life meaning,sound personal character and high-level ideal pursuit of college students.Adhering to the educational goal of “building people with morality” and the mission of“cultivating the socialist builders and successors with comprehensive development of moral,intellectual,and physical beauty,” we must do a good job of educating college students on the meaning of life.It is also the realistic foundation for college students to pursue and dedicate to the "Chinese Dream".The long history of human development has left a rich and precious cultural heritage,and the education of the meaning of life for contemporary college students should draw on their strengths,and fully tap,draw on,and make use of existing ideological and theoretical resources.First of all,we must adhere to the core guiding position of Marxist theory,take the "essence" theory of Marxism as the premise of life meaning education,and use the "all-round development" theory of Marxism as the destination of life meaning education.Secondly,for the traditional Chinese culture,"take the essence and remove the dross",learn from the Confucian life values of "ethics,merits,and speeches" and the Taoist "values of detachment and freedom".Finally,learn and refer to the excellent theories of western humanistic thought,and draw on the "human-centered" view of life meaning in humanistic philosophy and the "self-realization" view of life meaning in humanistic psychology.In a contemporary society with economic prosperity and diversified ideas,college students are trapped in the tide of consumerist and nihilistic social trends,inevitably with a utilitarian and nihilistic modernization tendency,with the loss of meaning in life,negative attitudes to life,and deviations in life pursuit And so on.Facing the adverse effects brought about by these modern social trends of thought and the real life values of college students,we should start with both theory and practice.On the one hand,we should construct and improvethe educational content of the meaning of life for contemporary college students and use life cognition.Taking life cognition as the basic content of life meaning education,life emotion as the key content of life meaning education,and life belief as the core content of life meaning education On the other hand,life meaning education is deepened by deepening the curriculum system of life meaning Innovate the model,promote the optimization of the education environment for the meaning of life,further improve the life cognition of college students,stimulate the enthusiasm of life of college students,and rectify the ideal pursuit of college students.
