"School-based curriculum development" is an important measure of a new round of basic education curriculum reform,which can greatly remedy for the shortcomings of the previous state-led talent training methods,and give full play to its effectiveness in adapting to the needs of students and society.Therefore,the development of school-based curriculum is an important way to realize quality education,meet students’ needs,promote teacher development,highlight school characteristics and train diverse talents.With the improvement of socialization level,the investment of basic education,the reform of the education system gradually deepened,the development of school-based curriculum has become a hot topic of curriculum research and curriculum practice.However,few schools own the ability to develop school-based curriculum until now,which focus on the eastern regions primarily with relatively rich educational resources.In comparison,the western regions put few concern on school-based curriculum and lack of practice.The development and improvement of any new thing is a long-term and continuous process.By consulting relevant literature,investigation and interview,case analysis and other methods,this paper summarized the current research status of school-based curriculum development at domestic and international,and conducted a detailed investigation,analysis and discussion on the overall situation of school-based curriculum development at Q primary school in X city.It is found that although Q Primary School has made certain achievements in School-based curriculum development,such as paying attention to the main position of students;the cultivation of students’ scientific and humanities accomplishment;the bilateral interaction between teachers and students;intentionally forming an educational community involving all parties.Whereas,there are still many problems hindering the development of school-based curriculum,the main problems presented are the lack of willingness to develop teachers’ curriculum,the blind development of curriculum,the poor effect of the curriculum,the single curriculum evaluation,the confusion of curriculum management,etc.The reason focus on the following points: teachers related to the theoretical knowledge of insufficient and lack of recognition of the value of school-based curriculum development,lack of a favorable leader in the development of school-based curriculum,lack of a comprehensive management systemand institutions,lack of social democratic participation and decision-making,lack of corresponding resources and facilities,lack of effective evaluation and feedback system,lack of support from all parties in society for the development of School-based curriculum.In view of the difficulties encountered in the development of school-based curriculum in Q primary school,the following countermeasures are proposed: to construct the teacher’s school-based curriculum development training system,convert the teacher’s curriculum concept,to promote the professional development of teacher,strengthen the importance of school-based curriculum development,provide favorable conditions,build an effective management and evaluation mechanism,create a diversified course environment,Increase the connection between the school and all parties in society,enhance communication and cooperation for the development of school-based curriculum and popularize the results and experience.
