Academic performance is a direct reflection of students’ academic achievements,and extra-curricular tutoring is often regarded as an important way to increase the gap between students.The scale and intensity of the current extra-curricular tutoring have shown its profound impact.However,parents,students,and teachers have mixed opinions on the value of extracurricular tutoring: Parents believe that extracurricular tutoring is a necessary supplement to home education and school education.Students see it as a task pressure that should be avoided as much as possible,while teachers believe that for students and schools Education,tutoring is more harmful than good.Studying the current situation of extra-curricular tutoring has great practical significance for forming the synergy of multi-party education and optimizing the effect of tutoring for students.This article takes students from a primary school as the object of investigation and issues paper-based questionnaires in units of classes to investigate the scale,intensity,content,decision-making power,and effect of elementary school students participating in extra-curricular tutoring.The study found that students in the middle and upper grades of the elementary school had the following problems in extra-curricular tutoring: passive participatory tutoring methods are not conducive to the improvement of learning effectiveness;high-intensity tutoring increases the academic burden of students;"advanced education" weakens students’ school learning curiosity;formatted teaching methods are not conducive to learning ability development.The influencing factors of the above problems not only include the learning environment and competitive pressures faced by students,and the convertibility of tuition investment,but also the parent’s value tendency and decision right in choosing extra-curricular tutoring,as well as the teaching content andmethods of tutoring institutions.Based on the research results,this article puts forward the following three suggestions: First,the education administration department should avoid one-sided evaluation and correctly lead the real value of extracurricular tutoring to create a good competitive environment and promote the all-round development of students.Second,we must strengthen home-school cooperation and families.Parents should reasonably view and choose extra-curricular tutoring.Finally,we must strengthen teachers’ continuing education and promote after-school service work to improve the quality of school education and teaching.
