| The Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China stated that establishing people with virtue is the fundamental task of education.The head teacher is an important force in the implementation of quality education and is responsible for educating children.The head teacher is facing new development requirements.By collecting and sorting out the literature on head teacher’s leadership research,the author finds that the academic research trend of head teacher’s leadership has been increased in recent years,but the empirical research on head teacher’s leadership is relatively weak,especially in head teacher’s leadership at primary school.Therefore,this research aims to provide a certain reference for enriching the theory of the head teacher’s leadership and promoting the professional development of the team of head teachers.This study is based on leadership theory and management,combined with the main content of the head teacher’s work,the head teacher’s leadership is divided into five dimensions: teaching,planning,organizational building,decision-making,and communication.The study used a self-edited questionnaire survey and selected head teachers at primary school as the research object from urban primary schools,urban-rural primary schools and rural primary schools in S District of Chongqing,and investigated the current situation of head teacher’s leadership at primary school with the help of SPSS24.0 and AMOS24.0,and analyzed and discussed the causes and value of the results,and on this basis,put forward corresponding promotion suggestions.Judging from the results,the overall level of head teacher’s leadership at primary school in district S of Chongqing is in the middle-low range,but the teaching ability is better;The score in planning is low,and the work plan of the head teacher is not long-term;The score in organizational building is also low,and the construction of class culture needs to be improved;The score in decision-making is also low,and the scientific nature of decision-making needs to be strengthened;The score in communication is also low,and the communication between head teachers and parents is not deepenough;There are significant differences in age,education,school type,and teaching age,but there are no significant differences in gender,job title,and teaching subjects.By analyzing and discussing the causes and value of the results of the head teacher’s leadership at primary school,corresponding suggestions are put forward on this basis to improve the head teacher’s leadership.My suggestions are as follows:Do a good job of the head teacher’s work plan and summary,and improve the planning ability of the primary school head teacher;Attach importance to class culture construction,and enhance the organizational building ability of the primary school head teacher;Follow the class development goals,and improve the scientific decision-making ability of the primary school head teacher;Strengthen the communication with students,parents and subject teachers;Accurate support from schools to improve young and short teaching age head teacher’s leadership;Joint development of urban and rural primary schools,and focusing on the development head teacher’s leadership at rural primary school;Face the differences in academic qualifications,and improve the head teacher’s leadership with low educational qualifications. |
