| The middle school stage is an important period of individual career development,and their career adaptability is the core of the individual’s career development and the most important factor for career success.Students with a higher level of career adaptability will show better career decision-making,planning,exploration,and self-confidence when faced with career transition and career problems,while students with a lower level of career adaptability will show less life satisfaction,happiness,and academic engagement.Therefore,career adaptability,as a popular field of career education research,has an important impact on career development.Targeted improvement of middle school students ’career adaptability is conducive to awakening students’ career awareness,promoting individuals ’self-knowledge.It will eventually help students to focus on their career planning earlier than others,so as to achieve a better career development.It provides a new perspective and theoretical basis for the school to carry out career guidance education,which is of great significance to the healthy growth of students and social development.Through literature analysis,This paper first used the "Career Adaptability Scale" to test 1015 middle school students to understand the current situation of the middle school students’ career adaptability,and tested the differences in demographic variables;secondly,the "Achievement Motivation Scale"," "Emotional Intelligence Scale" and "Career Adaptability Scale" have been applied to survey 1015 middle school students,investigating the relationship between achievement motivation,emotional intelligence and career adaptability.Finally,the self-designed group counseling program was used to adapt to intervene in the adaptability of middle school student.The results of this study are as follows:(1)The middle school students’ career adaptability is at the upper middle level,and there is no significant difference in the dimensions of whether they are the only child or not and the educational level of their mothers.(2)There are significant differences in middle school students’ career adaptability in terms of gender,grade,whether they have served as student leaders,school type,fathers ’educational level,and parents’ divorce situation.Boys are lower than girls in career attention and girls lower in career control.Career confidence of students in grade one,grade two,grade three and senior two is lower than that of students in grade one and grade three.Student leaders are higher than non-student leaders;Key middle school students are higher than ordinary middle school students;Students with father education level of bachelor degree and above,high school and junior high school have higher career curiosity than students with father education level of elementary school and below.Students whose parents are not divorced are higher than those whose parents are.(3)Achievement motivation,emotional intelligence and career adaptability are closely related.That is,achievement motivation and career adaptability are significantly positively correlated,achievement motivation and emotional intelligence are significantly positively correlated,emotional intelligence and career adaptability are significantly positively correlated.(4)Emotional intelligence plays a partial mediating role between achievement motivation and career adaptability.(5)Group counseling is an effective intervention method to improve the career adaptability of middle school students. |
