With the development of the mobile Internet and the increasingly powerful functions of mobile phones,the use of mobile phones provided many conveniences for college students’ daily life,and became an indispensable activity in college students’ study and life.However,the excessive use of mobile phones by college students made the phenomenon of mobile phone dependence common among college students.Mobile phone dependence refers to an individual’s excessive and continuous use of mobile phones,and the uncontrollable continuous use of mobile phones,resulting in behaviors that have a negative impact on life,study,and physical and mental health.Therefore,how to prevent the hand dependence of college students became the focus of attention of researchers.At present,research on mobile phone dependence mainly focuses on two aspects.The first is the research on the current situation and causes and consequences of mobile phone dependence,and the second is the research on intervention of mobile phone dependence.In terms of the causes of mobile phone dependence,that is,the influencing factors,scholars have conducted some inquiries and found that variables such as grade,gender,major,birthplace,selfesteem,and loneliness can affect individual mobile phone dependence behavior to a certain extent.Currently,there is no research on how emotional regulation selfefficacy affects college students’ mobile phone dependence.However,emotional regulation ability and its efficacy are an important factor that affects mobile phone dependence.Therefore,this study attempts to investigate factors such as emotional regulation self-efficacy that affect mobile phone dependence.In order to explore the status quo and relationships of college students’ selfesteem,emotional self-efficacy,mental health,and mobile phone dependence,especially the regulating role of emotional self-efficacy and the mediating role of mental health,this study uses the mobile phone addiction index scale and self-esteem The scale,general mental health scale,and emotional regulation self-efficacy scale surveyed 913 college students online and offline.The research results show that:(1)College students’ mental health is at a high level;mobile phone dependence is at a moderate level;self-esteem is at a high level;emotional regulation self-efficacy is at a low level;(2)self-esteem has a positive effect on mobile phone dependence,both Direct effects also have indirect effects;(3)Mental health plays a partial mediating role between self-esteem and mobile phone dependence;(4)Emotional regulation self-efficacy has a positive regulatory role between mental health and self-esteem.Therefore,this study found the direct and indirect effects of college students’ selfesteem on mobile phone dependence,as well as the direct effects of mental health on mobile phone dependence and the regulation of emotional self-efficacy in the process of self-esteem and mental health’s influence on mobile phone dependence.The mediation model with adjustment provides a good theoretical basis and data support for exploring the causes and intervention of college students’ mobile phone dependence.
