Research On The Influence Of Internet Development Level On Labor Productivity

China’s economy has entered a new normal stage of transforming from high-speed growth to high-quality growth,and is in the crucial stage of transforming and upgrading its economic structure.It is in urgent need of information technologies such as big data,artificial intelligence and the Internet to increase its strength.The emergence of "Internet plus" has provided a new direction for the transformation and upgrading of various industries.With the help of the Internet’s universality,integration,basic infrastructure construction and advanced,extensive and disruptive scientific and technological innovation,new models and paths have emerged for industrial transformation and upgrading,and new drivers of economic and social development have emerged.More and more countries and regions regard the Internet as an important means to enhance their core competitiveness.Important measures adopted by the Chinese government,such as the "cyber power" strategy,the national big data strategy and the "Internet plus" action plan,demonstrate the important role of the Internet in promoting sustained and stable economic growth.In this context,this thesis focuses on the impact of Internet development level on labor productivity in China’s provincial regions.Based on the level of Internet infrastructure and Internet application,Internet industry development of three dimensions,selecting the long-distance optical cable line length,number of domain name,web site,subscribers capacity,broadband Internet access port,Internet penetration,mobile telephones,Internet,telecommunication broadband Internet users,Internet related total staff number 10 secondary indexes,established the index system of regional level of Internet development measure in our country.Spss,stata statistical analysis software,the global principal component analysis method to determine the weight of each index,to calculate the level of Internet development in China’s provinces.At the same time,the thesis analyzes the status quo of the development of labor productivity in various provinces in China and examines the effect of the development level of Internet on the improvement of regional labor productivity.The results show that :(1)the Internet can not only directly have a positive impact on labor productivity by influencing the production and circulation links of enterprises and consumer behavior habits,but also indirectly have a positive impact on labor productivity by accelerating industrial transformation and upgrading and improving the cultural quality of workers.During the sample period,the level of Internet development has a significant promoting effect on regional labor productivity.For every unit increase in the level of Internet development index,the regional labor productivity will increase by 29.8%.(2)the promotion effect of Internet development level on regional labor productivity is different in different regions.The promotion effect of Internet development level on regional labor productivity in western regions is more significant than that in eastern and central regions.
