Research On Academic Adjustment Of Vocational Colleges Freshmen Under The 3+2 Segmentation In Jiangmen City

Abstract/Summary:
With the popularization of the 3+2 segmentation cultivating mode,more and more vocational middle school students have been enrolled into vocational colleges since 2010.When they enter vocational colleges,their academic adjustment differs from those who are from high schools,which has become a great challenge both for vocational secondary schools and vocational colleges,and has driven the attention of many domestic researchers as well.This study investigated the status of academic adjustment of vocational college freshmen under the 3+2 segmentation cultivating mode in Jiangmen City.Suggestion will be put forward on the basis of the survey afterwards to enhance the connection between secondary and high vocational education,as well as to improve the academic adjustment of students in under the 3+2 segmentation cultivating mode.After reviewing the literature on this subject,the author developed a questionnaire“Vocational College Freshmen Academic Adjustment Questionnaire”.After collecting383 valid questionnaires,the author dealt with data by SPSS,and found the following results:(1)The general academic adjustment of all the subjects states in a middle level,so as the students under the 3+2 segmentation cultivating mode.(2)There is significant difference in major and school types,but not in gender,for academic adjustment of students under the 3+2 segmentation cultivating mode.(3)There is no significant difference on the whole,together with the gender between 3+2 segmentation students and high school graduates.However,significant difference exists in major and school types between 3+2 segmentation students and high school graduates.After the survey,it can be concluded that external environment factor of the academic adjustment influences greater than the internal cause,especially the great change of learning environment and the interpersonal relationship.Moreover,for the internal cause,professional identity and learning attitude impact quite great on the academic adjustment.For professional identity,students have no interest in their major and are quite concerned about their job prospects.Finally,in order to ensure the academic adjustment of 3+2 segmentation students,as well as to improve the connection of secondary and higher vocational education,some suggestions are proposed as follow.Strengthen the cooperation between vocational middle schools and vocational colleges;co-build and share teaching resources to sharp an education resultant force between vocational middle schools and colleges;enhance the quality of teachers in vocational middle schools,together with the teaching mode revolution;attach great importance to middle school students’ career education and learning ability,including learning motivation,learning attitude and learning ability.
