Su Dongpo’s Educational Thoughts And Comtemporary Enlightenments In Hainan Period

Su Dongpo’s educational thoughts during the time in Hainan Island.They are embodied in his numerous works that made in Hainan,has had a profound impact on Hainan.Otherwise,his thoughts has been are permeated into every way,including his personality,the view of academic study,educating others and so on.This paper summarizes the contemporary enlightenment of Su’s educational thought during the period through the exploration of the causes,contents and historical contributions.Su dongpo’s educational thoughts in juqiong period not only promoted the progress of hainan’s cultural and educational undertakings,but also provided a useful reference for today’s ideological and political education contents,methods and principles.This paper consists of five parts totally.Firstly,it explains the purpose and significance,research status,ideas,methods,innovations and shortcomings.Then,it concludes the causes of his theory,which affected by the following aspects:traditional Chinese culture,the academic atmosphere in the Northern Song Dynasty,the family environment,his own personality and the life experience.For the third part,this paper refines the main contents of Su’s educational thoughts during the time of Hainan Island.It analyzes and studies the educational purpose,educational contents and educational approaches.The aims of education was to cultivate individual’s independent personality,promote the changes of social custom and push forward the development of educational cause of Hainan Island.The educational contents were paying more attention to social education,national unity education,philosophy education and gratitude education.Moreover,the educational ways based on the creation of Zaijiu Hall(the former name of Dongpo Academy),the function of school,the practise what one preach,the local conditions and the realities.The fourth part mainly discuss the historical contributions of his educational thought at that time.There are a few contributions.The close culture society in Dan’er turns to searching all the talents.It is the most prosperous place of Xuan Ge.He was the first Jinshi and Ju-ren in Hainan history.To a certain extent,it has promoted the development of Hainan education as well as the progress of Hainan’s cilivization.It also has left a great deal of precious spiritual wealth to us all.The fifth part is the Contemporary Enlightenment of his thought during that time.The thought focues on the cultivation of independent personality,the open mind when facing the setback,the respect and awe for life,and the construction of the relationship betwwen teachers and students.It is important to dialectically look at the essence of Su Dongpo’s educational thought in the period of zhu qiong in combination with a actual situation of contemporary social.
