With the flourishing development of modern manufacturing industry,strategic emerging industries and modern services,the demand for skilled technical talents is becoming more and more urgent.In recent years,our country has made great efforts in developing vocational education,which has created approximately ten million of first-line technical talents and made boosting the economic development and the employment of laborers.Secondary vocational education is an important component in vocational education,with increasingly high social identification and attention.Secondary vocational school students are the group who steps into the career market earliest but the career planning education for them is inadequate.Under the current grim employment situation,secondary vocational school students’ skill level,education level and social experience are at a disadvantage.Their low quality of employment is one of the difficulties that they have to face.Therefore,improving the quality of career planning capability is necessary and important for secondary vocational school students.Career planning education is beneficial to improve students’ employment quality,create more employment choices and promote the long-term development of secondary vocational schools.Firstly,before the research,the current research status from domestic and international areas on how to improve the career planning capability and the implementation status of career planning education should be fully collected through academic resource platforms,which is the basis of the following study.Secondly,design questionnaires and interview outline,taking the secondary vocational teachers and students of S Secondary Vocational College as research objects.Questionnaires were done by 270 students from different grades and majors and the sample data were processed and analyzed by statistical software SPSS 25.0.In order to improve the accuracy of the research,six students among two hundred and seventy are interviewed further as well as five leaders and teachers responsible for managing and career planning courses in S Secondary Vocational College.All that is done above is to get a full understanding of students’ current career planning capability and the progress of implementation of career planning education.The research shows that the students from S Secondary Vocational College are generally not proficient in career planning due to their incomplete self-awareness,no special sense for career planning,unclear career orientation and lack of motivation in career exploration and preparation,etc.Secondary vocational students’ career planning ability mainly comes from secondary vocational school education.The S secondary vocational school has the following problems in the cultivation of students’ career planning ability: loose daily management,unperfect career planning education management system,unreasonable curriculum,insufficient professional teachers,shallow school-enterprise cooperation.Finally,based on the current situation of career planning education in S Secondary Vocational College,countermeasures to improve the career planning capability of secondary vocational students as follow:strengthen the daily management,improve the management system,establishment of scientific curriculum system,strengthen the construction of teachers and deepen school-enterprise cooperation.
