Research On The Influence Of Labor Supply On The Structural Transformation Of Manufacturing Industry In Northeast China

Manufacturing industry is the engine of a country’s economic development,which plays an important role in complying with the trend of globalization and the tide of industrialization and achieving high-speed economic growth.Northeast China as an important domestic industrial base,Industry plays a crucial role in the overall industrial structure of the region.But in recent years,with the transformation of economic development mode,the structural contradictions under the past economic system have fully appeared.The decrease of the total supply of labor,the increase of the average years of education and the increase of labor cost will affect the traditional manufacturing industry,which is dominated by resources and labor input.Therefore,the new situation of total supply,quality and cost of labor force in the economic development is an important factor that can not be ignored in exploring the structural transformation process of manufacturing industry in Northeast China.First of all,this paper summarizes the current situation of manufacturing industry and its structural transformation in Northeast China,and analyzes the current situation and reasons of manufacturing labor supply in Northeast China from the perspectives of total labor supply,quality and cost.Secondly,from the three perspectives of labor supply,the paper analyzes the mechanism of labor supply on the structural transformation of manufacturing industry from the theoretical level,and further explores the regulatory role of technological innovation in the relationship,according to the importance of technological innovation in labor and production process.Therefore,put forward the theoretical mechanism and research hypothesis about the impact of labor supply on the structural transformation of manufacturing industry.Thirdly,based on the data of 28 manufacturing industry segments in Northeast China from 2003 to 2017,the hypothesis is verified by constructing econometric model.At the same time,in order to ensure the robustness of the empirical results,the System GMM method(SYS-GMM)is used to deal with the endogenous problems,moreover,in order to further verify the research hypothesis,this paper constructs a regulatory effect test model based on the benchmark regression model,and further explores whether technological innovation can significantly regulate the relationship between the total supply of labor,quality,cost and the structural transformation of manufacturing industry.Finally,based on the empirical results and conclusions,from the perspective of the total supply of labor,quality and cost changes,this paper puts forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions to promote the structural transformation of manufacturing industry in Northeast China.
