Learning burnout is an important part of psychological learning research for secondary vocational students,and it has been highly emphasized by Chinese and international researchers.Learning burnout among secondary vocational students experts far-reaching impact on the future development and the healthy psychological growth of students.The majority of findings from the existing literature on this topic categorize the primary causes of learning burnout among students into internal and external causes.In terms of the external causes,some research findings identified parental style as a critical external cause.To be more specific,a positive parental style was found negatively correlated to the learning burnout level of students.Meanwhile,psychological diathesis is not only a determinant intrinsic quality but also a key internal cause relating to the learning burnout among students,directly or indirectly.However,a gap in the existing literature was identified by this research:the existing research concentrated in the objects like middle school students and university students.Few studies targeted at a systematic and in-depth understanding of the internal and external causes of learning burnout for secondary vocational students.This research aims at filling this gap by exploring into the relationship among parental style,psychological diathesis and learning burnout.The quantitative methodology was adopted and the data was collected through questionnaire survey.Three measurement tools were included,including s-EMBU,Brief Questionnaires of Psychological Quality Scale for Middle School Students(Healthy Version)and Learning Burnout Scale for Adolescents.755 current students from three secondary vocational schools in Yangzhou voluntarily participated in the survey.The statistical software,SPSS21.0 and Mplus8.0,was applied to complete the empirical research,including the correlation analysis,the variance analysis and the path analysis.Findings of this research include(1)Among parental style for secondary vocational students,those behaviors with warmth and understanding were the commonest,followed by the overprotective behaviors(2)The psychological quality of secondary vocational students was generally above-average.The cognition dimension ranked the top among three dimensions.The scores of the individuality dimension and the adaptability dimension were relatively lower.(3)Among three dimensions of learning burnout for secondary vocational students,the emotional exhaustion dimension scored the highest,followed by low achievability.The average score of learning estrangement was the lowest,thus being identified as the least serious one.(4)The parental style for secondary vocational students varied significantly among several variables,such as genders,grades,majors,only child or not,parents’relationship status and origin of student.(5)The psychological quality and those three dimensions presented significant differences in terms of variables including genders,majors,parents’ relationship status and origin of student.(6)The learning burnout and those three dimensions presented significantly differences in regard to variables including genders,grades,majors and parents’ relationship status.(7)Parental style for secondary vocational students significantly related to psychological quality and learning burnout.Psychological quality for secondary vocational students significantly related to parental style and learning burnout.(8)The psychological quality of vocational students serves as a complete mediator among father’s refusal,mother’s refusal and learning burnout.Meanwhile,it only serves as a partial mediator among father’s emotional warmth,mother’s emotional warmth and learning burnout.
