Objective: With the continuous development of China’s society and economy, prolonged sedentary behaviors can lead to a series of metabolic diseases.A large amount of literature proves that exercise can improve energy metabolism in the general population, but its reliability is not high due to limited operation.Sedentary studies in high-intensity interval training are scarce. This article attempts to understand the continuous influence of high-intensity interval training on energy metabolism and oxygen consumption of the population by understanding the characteristics of energy metabolism in sedentary people and using high-intensity interval training as an exercise intervention. It provides scientific basis and practical guidance for the application of high-intensity interval training in office sedentary and avoiding metabolic diseases. Methods: This study applied the FHC-20 S Fuji Energy Metabolism Compartment in Japan, using a method of randomly assigning experimental sequences, and participated in three experiments at 7-day intervals:(1)using the Metabolism Compartment monitoring from 11 am to 6 pm(total 7h),eat normally during lunch, and stay sedentary in the afternoon.(2)At the same time, perform 90%HRmax HIIT training before lunch(11:30),and maintain a sedentary working state in the afternoon.(3)At the same time, after lunch(13:30),perform an intensity of 90%HRmax HIIT,and maintain a sedentary working state in the afternoon. The 12 subjects were from the sedentary and less active employees of BGI Group. After the experiment, the indicators of the subjects.Statistics of sugar oxidation rate, fat oxidation rate, protein oxidation rate,RQ,EPOC,HR,urea nitrogen were statistically analyzed to compare the differences between the groups.Results:(1)7h average fat oxidation rate: before lunch, the HIIT group was significantly higher than the sedentary group(0.087 ± 0.008;0.058 ± 0.008,p<0.05).(2)Average sugar oxidation rate at 7h: The HIIT group before lunch and the HIIT group after lunch were significantly higher than those in the sedentary group(0.373 ± 0.018;0.454 ± 0.015;0.212 ± 0.018,p <0.001).(3)Total energy expenditure: The HIIT group before lunch and the HIIT group after lunch were significantly higher than those in the sedentary group(p <0.001).(4)The average heart rate at 7h was significantly higher in the HIIT group before lunch and in the HIIT group after lunch(p <0.001).(5)The average RQ at 7h was significantly higher in the HIIT group before meals and in the HIIT group after lunch than in the sedentary group.(6)The duration of EPOC was significantly higher in the HIIT group before lunch than in the HIIT group after lunch.Conclusion:(1)High-intensity interval training significantly improves the fat oxidation of sedentary people in the office.(2)With the same energy expenditure,HIIT exercise before lunch is better than HIIT training after lunch in terms of fat metabolism.Recommendation: For long-term sitting sedentary people in the office during high-intensity interval training,high-intensity interval training before lunch should be the main method to improve afternoon fat oxidation.
