The Research On The Music Selection Of Aerobic Dancing In Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships

AEROBIC DANCE was listed as a competition event in the 12 th Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships in 2012 for the first time.It is a collective event performed by 8 athletes in the music accompaniment,dancing to demonstrate aerobics movements and the second style of the characteristics of the movement.As an important component,music would be conducive to demonstrate the technical characteristics and technical style of athletes,helping to improve competition result,if selected appropriately.This paper focuses on the music selection of aerobic dancing in the Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships,seeking to provide theoretical reference for the music selection of aerobic dancing,to promote the innovative development of aerobic dance music selection and enhance the competitive advantages of participating teams.The paper generalizes and summarizes the methods of music selection of 32 final teams in the 12-15 th World Championships,by analyzing the main content and basic elements of music and their applications in whole set.Many research techniques,including literature review,video analysis,expert interviews,mathematical statistics and others.The paper concludes:1.Pop music dominates.47% of final teams choosing pop music with clear themes and strong sense of rhythm,50% choosing pop music still for its second style,during 12-15 th world championships.The study shows the optimal length is 20 seconds.2.The types of musical segments are mainly four-sentence style,which used by69% of final teams,indicating it is more suitable for the characteristics of aerobic dance.75% of final teams chose 4/4 beat,60% chose vocal music;using of sound effects are decreasing,from 15 times in the 12 th session to 8 in the 15 th session.3.The music general goes fast tempo,BPM of themes of 31 sets companying music,out of 32,are above 132.BPM only below 132 for second style in 2 set.Meanwhile,structure of the music are mainly reproduction of single trilogy.Among32 final teams,28 teams chose reproduction of a single trilogy,3 team chose two forms,and 2 chose parallel single trilogy.4.Harmonization and consistency between the theme background and culture features,between the characteristics of movement and the music,as well as the innovation,are key winning factors and development trend.
