Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the reform of Funeral Rites has been promoted.After the reform and opening up,the relevant departments of governments at all levels have issued a series of relevant policies to promote the reform of funeral rites.However,in many places,in addition to the treatment,scale and ceremony of the dead in funeral rites,some changes have taken place,but it has been passed on The unified funeral ceremony is still intact.For this reason,the author selected D village,B village,J village and other villages in Lanling County,through field observation and interview methods,to explore the status and reasons of funeral ceremony inheritance and change.Through on-the-spot visit,the author found that the funeral ceremony of several villages in Lanling county had some changes in the way,duration,scale of funeral supplies and participants of the funeral ceremony,such as cremation of the deceased’s remains into the coffin,reduction of funeral scale,cost saving,etc.,but the core content and process of the funeral ceremony did not take place What’s the big change,or the "simplified version" of the past.The reason is that the factors of etiquette and custom,management and custom play an important role.In other words,the inheritance and change of this funeral ceremony is actually the result of the game between the state power system and customs.When the state power is enhanced,the change of Customs will be greater.Otherwise,it will return to the original or basically maintain the original.The investigation also makes us clear that the change of rituals related to traditional customs is not effective in a short time,even if there are many scientific reasons,but it takes a long time to work patiently to push the work forward.
