Research On China’s Public Diplomacy To ASEAN Countries In The New Era

After the end of the cold war,public diplomacy has been paid more and more attention and used by countries all over the world.It has become an indispensable way to effectively complement the traditional government diplomacy.The ASEAN is China’s "the Belt and Road Initiatives" and a very important position.The ASEAN has been playing a very important role in the diplomatic layout and the "the Belt and Road Initiatives".In recent years,China ASEAN relations have been upgrading and upgrading.China’s practice of public diplomacy has been continuously deepening in ASEAN countries and has made remarkable achievements in the humanities,media and public relations diplomacy.However,due to various factors,there are some noises in the relations between China and ASEAN countries,and some countries in ASEAN have begun to view China as a "menace".There are also many misunderstandings about "the Belt and Road Initiatives".These murmurs have had some adverse effects on China’s image.Therefore,in the context of the new era,China needs to further plan and promote the public diplomacy to ASEAN countries in view of the existing problems and challenges,so as to create new opportunities for closer ties with the people of ASEAN.Innovation is the significance of academic research.In terms of innovation,this paper highlights the practical significance of China’s public diplomacy to ASEAN countries in the new era;in terms of content,it systematically and comprehensively analyzes the history,current situation,opportunities and challenges of China’s public diplomacy to ASEAN countries,and then puts forward targeted suggestions,which has theoretical innovation.Generally speaking,this paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter expounds the connotation,form and function of public diplomacy,defines and explains the public diplomacy and its related concepts,so as to provide theoretical support for the discussion of China’s public diplomacy to ASEAN countries.The second chapter systematically combs the historical context of China ASEAN public diplomacy,analyzes the development characteristics of China ASEAN public diplomacy in each period,and summarizes the achievements since the new era.The third chapter summarizes the objectives and principles of China’s public diplomacy to ASEAN.The fourth chapter analyzes and studies the opportunities and challenges existing in the public diplomacy of ASEAN countries in the new era,which paves the way for putting forward countermeasures and suggestions.Finally,on the basis of the first four chapters,the fifth chapter explores and expounds the countermeasures and suggestions for the future public diplomacy of ASEAN countries from four aspects: improving and perfecting the relevant mechanism,highlighting the target of the audience,establishing a new pattern of public diplomacy,and innovating the content and form,so as to promote the progress of China’s public diplomacy of ASEAN countries.
