Party members and cadres refer to cadres who have the status of Party members of the Communist Party of China and are the backbone of the whole cadre team.Party members and cadres in villages and towns are social groups with the identities of party members and cadres in villages and towns at the same time,and they are the backbone of our country’s administration at the grass-roots level and the bridge connecting with the masses.The ideological and political education of township party members and cadres refers to carrying out purposeful,planned and organized educational practice activities for township party members and cadres with ideological concepts,political views and moral norms in line with socialism with Chinese characteristics.It is a political education activity focusing on ideological and theoretical aspects of township party members and cadres.Paying attention to and studying the ideological and political education of party members and cadres in villages and towns in the new era is an important guarantee for comprehensively enhancing the party’s ruling ability,an important prerequisite for implementing the party’s line,principles and policies,an important task for in-depth implementation of the rural revitalization strategy,an important measure for laying a solid foundation for realizing the leap-forward development of the "14th Five-Year Plan",an important link for consolidating the high trust of the broad masses of grassroots in the party,and the key to the success or failure of the party’s cause,which is of great strategic significance for improving the effectiveness of ideological and political education.At present,China’s ideological and political education of township party members and cadres has made certain achievements and experiences.For example,the identity of ideological and political education of township party members and cadres has generally formed,the overall quality of township party members and cadres has become more excellent,and the enthusiasm of township party members and cadres to serve the grassroots has steadily increased.However,in reality,there are still some outstanding problems in the ideological and political education of township party members and cadres,such as emphasizing practice and neglecting theoretical education,lacking systematicness and standardization of educational content,and poor educational effect.These problems are caused by insufficient attention to the ideological and political education of township party members and cadres,weak pertinence of educational content,single and rigid educational methods,and serious "spectator mentality" of warning education.In view of the problems existing in the ideological and political education of township party members and cadres in the new era,we should strengthen the improvement from the following aspects: first,improve the understanding of the importance of ideological and political education of township party members and cadres;second,enrich the content of ideological and political education of township party members and cadres;third,innovate the methods of ideological and political education of township party members and cadres;fourth,strengthen the organization and leadership of ideological and political education of township party members and cadres;and fifth,create a good atmosphere for ideological and political education of township party members and cadres.
