Research On The Response Of Local Government To Internet Public Opinion Crisis

As we all know,China has entered the crucial period of reform and social transformation,and there are so many prominent social contradictions that many problems and shortcomings have exposed,which resulting in an increase in social objective contradictions.With the rapid development of mobile Internet,information channel and information resource is becoming more and more diverse,the Internet has become an important platform which people can freely express appeal.At the same time,it has become the main platform and important way for government departments to understand the ideological trends of the people and respond to the questions of public events.For sensitive social topics,it often causes negative public opinion to the government.If the local government cannot respond well to the online public opinion in the online public space,the public is more likely to point the finger at the local government’s insufficient administrative capacity or inaction,which may lead to the credibility crisis and other chain reactions,and increase the social instability and the difficulty of local government governance.Therefore,it is an important task for local governments to accurately grasp the characteristics and development of online public opinion,understand the current problems in response to the crisis of online public opinion,timely and effectively respond to the crisis of online public opinion,and improve their governance ability.Based on the research and analysis of Public Crisis Management,4R Crisis Management Theory,this paper investigate the current situation of the system and mechanism of local governments in response to the crisis of online public opinion.The case analysis method and comparative analysis method are used to study the cases of dealing with the network public opinion crisis in different areas of Shandong Province,and the problems and difficulties existing in the current local government’s response to the network public opinion crisis are summarized through comparison.This paper analyzes the reasons for its predicament from the subjective and objective aspects,and puts forward the solutions for local governments in the aspects of concept and consciousness,staged crisis management,online and offline linkage,and coordination between governance bodies,in order to provide practical suggestions for local governments to achieve the goal of good governance.
