Research On The Regional Cooperation System Among Local Governments In Taiwan

The regional cooperation among local governments in Taiwan is a positive practice for seeking regional improvement under the background of economic globalization.Its regional cooperation system is inspired by western regional governance concepts and deeply influenced by historical culture and regional characteristics.Its exploration path manifests itself from direct administrative division adjustment to functional integration between local governments.It has gradually formed an informal coordination mechanism from contractual cooperation on a single matter,and strives to achieve all-round communication and coordination between regions,and has rich experience.But it also revealed a series of intractable problems such as lack of systems,uneven responsibility,and insufficient motivation for participation.The purpose of this article is to systematically introduce the development and practice of regional cooperation among local governments in Taiwan,focusing on the construction of relevant cooperation mechanisms.In the main part of the article,the foundations of regional cooperation among local governments in Taiwan are sorted out,and then the types and characteristics of regional cooperation among local governments in Taiwan are emphasized.Finally,we summarize the experience of Taiwan in regional cooperation and pay attention to its shortcomings,so as to focus on the relevant experience of regional cooperation in the participating cities in the process of regional integration in the Yangtze River Delta of China.The mechanism and multi-participation have provided positive thinking for the mainland region and need to be vigilant,and put forward some suggestions on the implementation of China’s regional cooperation mechanism.Of course,due to the reality of technology and policy,the research in this article cannot collect more local,national and worldwide latest data in real time,which limits the objectivity and operability of this article.At the same time,although this article is discussing the regional cooperation system in Taiwan,the purpose is not to promote general system transplantation,but to try to provide a reference direction for regional cooperation in the mainland by combing the Taiwan system and promote regional development in the mainland.The relevant policies will be enriched and improved,and regional integration with Chinese characteristics will eventually be established.
