Research On The Construction Of The Press Spokesman’s Ability To Deal With Changes In The Media Age

With the advent of the age of integrated media,people are highly dependent on the media for their lives,leading to the rapid explosion of rumors in a short period of time,there have been COVID-19,explosions in Port of Tianjin,earthquakes in Wenchuan County,and unexplained screenshots,short videos or chat logs during disasters that make it hard to tell the truth from the truth.In the face of the renovation of the contents and forms of rumors,the press spokesman,as the publisher of information,often appears somewhat at a loss in the face of questions raised by media reporters on behalf of the public,it also did not play a good role as a bridge and link to guide public opinion,resolve contradictions and guide public opinion correctly.Government spokesman also plays the role of opening government information and protecting people’s right to know.In the Media Age,there are new requirements and qualities for this role and position.Especially in the event of emergencies,the changes of Internet technology and the characteristics of freedom of information have posed new challenges to the capacity-building of government spokesmen.To some extent,the result of news release depends directly or indirectly on their individual ability,media literacy and professional ability.Based on the actual situation,combining the case analysis and the in-depth interview content analysis,this paper finds out the insufficiency and the existing problems of the government spokesman’s ability to deal with changes,and puts forward that the construction of the spokesman’s ability to deal with changes should start from the idea and become in practice,laying the basic conditions for the media age in terms of concept and practice,and connecting with relevant knowledge theories such as communication,public relations and political science,starting from the joint efforts of the government,society and spokespersons of the press,we should try our best to improve the ability of our press spokesmen to meet the demands of the Times,to be the spokesmen of authoritative information,to defuse the crisis of public opinion and to be the master of public relations.
