The Impact Of Institutional Distance On Transnational Technology Transfer

As a driving force for a country’s economic development,technology is a powerful promoter of technological innovation and technological progress,and has played an important supporting role in the global economic flow and allocation of commodity labor services,international trade,and capital flows.In addition,the core technological competitiveness has gradually become apparent from country to country,and the transnational technology transfer is virtually filled in the development process of economic globalization.However,China’s introduction of foreign advanced technology under open conditions is based on“bsorption and emulation” How can we broaden the channels for technology transfer? How can the international investment in science and technology land accurately? It has become an important issue to study my country’s transnational technology transfer.In the international environment,the system is a background that is closely related to the operation of enterprises.In transnational technology transfer,different institutional backgrounds can become a “tumbling block” for countries in technology transfer.When a technology is introduced into the host country,the technical structure in the context of the home country system must also follow.Based on this,both parties need to work together in promoting the process of transnational technology transfer.The institutional environment will have a certain impact on transnational technology transfer.However,in the existing research,few scholars have linked institutional distance to transnational technology transfer.In view of this,this article explores the impact of institutional distance on transnational technology transfer from the perspective of institutional distance.First,this article summarizes the institutional theory and technology transfer theory involved,clarifies the development of institutional theory,and reviews the literature on institutional distance and transnational technology transfer to determine the research theme of the paper.Secondly,through the construction of the theoretical model,the concept of each variable involved in the model is defined,and the explained variables and explanatory variables are divided into specific dimensions,and the research hypothesis is put forward.Finally,this paper analyzes the impact of political,economic,and cultural distances on internalized technology transfer and externalized technology transfer using the empirical analysis of Stata software at different levels,reveals the mechanism of institutional distance on transnational technology transfer,and finally draws conclusions and conclusions.Management enlightenment,and pointed out the research limitations of this article and the outlook for the future.According to the above research logic,this paper mainly draws the following conclusions: First,the negative influence of political distance affects the internalization of technology transfer,and at the same time,the negative influence of the externalization of technology transfer.Second,the negative impact of economic distance on external technology transfer has no effect on internal technology transfer.Third,the cultural distance negatively affects the internalization technology transfer and the externalization technology transfer.Fourth,the dependence of foreign trade has a significant regulatory effect.Foreign trade dependence increases the influence of political distance on internalized technology transfer;it weakens the influence of economic distance and cultural distance on internalized technology transfer.The dependence of foreign trade has weakened the influence of political distance,economic distance and cultural distance on external technology transfer.According to the research results of this article,the following management revelations are drawn: First,transnational technology transfer is viewed from the perspective of institutional distance.When transnational technology transfer is carried out,it is necessary to adapt to the institutional environment of other countries as much as possible,so as to transform the institutional disadvantages into good systems in other countries.Second,properly grasp the degree of dependence on foreign trade.The degree of dependence on foreign trade is not as high as possible,nor as low as possible.We must grasp this "degree".Third,make effective use of transnational technology transfer.From the aspects of internalized technology transfer and externalized technology transfer,choose appropriate international direct investment and technology introduction programs to allow more countries to participate,seek common ground while reserving differences,and prevent the collapse of the system caused by institutional distance.This article innovatively introduces institutional distance into the research of transnational technology transfer,and divides transnational technology transfer into internal technology transfer and external technology transfer based on this perspective,in order to study the impact of institutional distance on transnational technology transfer.Research not only provides a new perspective on institutional theory for transnational technology transfer.In addition,this paper also explores the internal mechanism of institutional distance affecting transnational technology transfer,verifies the adjustment effect of foreign trade dependence,reveals the mechanism of institutional distance affecting transnational technology transfer,and expands the research ideas of institutional theory.
