With the vigorous development of engineering projects in developing countries, the construction of water conservancy projects aims at economic development and poverty alleviation.Especially for some project-induced rural immigration, because the construction of water conservancy projects destroyed their normal production and living order, and destroyed the original social network and living conditions of these immigrants, they faced a long and complicated social reconstruction after moving to a new place.Due to the restrictions of national resettlement policies, some project-induced rural immigration often face the challenges of survival due to the loss of production materials and non-agricultural skills. The project immigration problem is a worldwide problem and has become the standard for measuring the success or failure of engineering construction. The resettlement compensation problem of rural migrants caused by the development and construction of engineering projects has become an important risk factor affecting social stability.Based on the survey data of rural migrants from resettlement area of Three Gorges Project in Fuling District,Chongqing City,China, this paper establishes an integrated system combined with the ERG demand theory, exploring the relationship between participants’ Demand Level,Satisfaction Degree,Living Condition,Community Relation,Personal Development. The ordinal logistic regression and the structural equation modeling approach was used to analyses the path logic of the farmers’ hierarchy of needs during the post-migration support program. The main contents are as follows:The rural migrants of the Three Gorges Project have experienced severe poverty after the completion of the construction project. The performance is devastating and causing poverty in life, the scale triggers safety problems, the forced nature brings marginalization of social status, the irreversible and social discrimination and compensatory leads to extreme state of mind.Based on the ordinal logistic regression model, rural migrants from resettlement area of Three Gorges Project in Fuling District,Chongqing City,China, were analyzed based on the current satisfaction evaluation data in the follow-up support and the relevant project level model and the influencing factors at each level were obtained. The data results reflected the root cause of weakness is the difficulty in grasping the key needs of rural migrants. In the follow-up support, the demand level of project-induced rural immigration is not a stepwise rise, and the factors affecting the “Demand Level” include “Satisfaction Degree”,“Living Condition”,“Community Relation” and “Personal Development”.Among them,“Living Condition” and “Satisfaction Degree” have significant positive correlations with the needs of project-induced rural immigration based on the follow-up supports;“Community Relation” have no significant impact on their demand;and “Personal development” has significant negative impact on their demand. The government should also actively guide publicity and continuously carry out policy improvement and adjustment to reduce the poverty management of the project resettlement,in order to solve the problem of project-induced rural immigration’s needs in the follow-up support.Government departments should pay attention to the capital investment of infrastructure projects, and carry out skills training and joint industrial assistance. |
