| After the merger of Peking University,Tsinghua University and Nankai University,the Southwest Associated University moved to Kunming and became unique in its literary creation,with outstanding achievements in the fields of poetry,fiction and essays.However,for a long time,the scholarly community has focused mainly on the literary work of the university.However,for a long time,the academic community has mainly focused on the poetry of Southwest Associated University,especially keen to examine these poems from a modernist perspective,while neglecting other literary genres and other creative styles,and even less attention has been paid to the novels of Southwest Associated University.Even though some studies have mentioned the novels of the Southwest Associated University,they have mostly focused on the realism and modernism in the novels.In fact,the novels written during the Southwest Associated University period were not only numerous but also of high quality.Although the novels written during this period were mainly realistic,there were still many works that explored romanticism and modernism,and the appearance of these works added a different style to the literature of Southwest Associated University,and the study of these works is undoubtedly beneficial to our understanding of the diversity of Southwest Associated University literature.Therefore,this paper focuses on these works from the perspective of "romance".Based on the uniqueness of "romance" in the fictional works of Southwest Associated University,this paper carefully composes the expression of "romance" in the literary works of Southwest Associated University.The first chapter briefly compares the development of "romanticism" in China and its representative literary groups,and highlights the differences of "romance" in the Southwest Associated University period from the historical line;the second chapter focuses on "romanticism" in the novels of Southwest Associated University.Chapter 2 focuses on the main expressions of "romance" in the novels of the Southwest Associated University,from the traditional typical romantic novels to the integration of romance in realism and modernism;Chapter 3 will take Shen Congwen as the representative and discuss the romanticism of "returning to nature" in his fictional works;Chapter 4focuses on the analysis of the revolution,love and romance expressed in the novels of Ambrose Chen.Chapter 4 focuses on the multiple romantic modes of revolution,romance,and fantasy expressed in Chen Quan’s novels;Chapter 5 considers the romantic characteristics of the novels of the Southwest Associated University in the context of wartime China and explores their unique significance.To sum up,the romance in the novels of Southwest Associated University presents a unique artistic charm and enriches the meaning of the text. |
