A Study On Otani Kozui’s "Manchuria View"

Otani Kozui is famous as a religious scientist,explorer and politician in Modern Japan.In order to cooperate with the Japanese imperialists’ aggression against northeast China,Otani Kozui,who had been active in northeast China for a long time,gave full support and formed a unique cognition system of "Manchuria".He fully supported Japan’s efforts to win "Manchuria" interests from the economic and cultural aspects,and personally participated in practical activities.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part combs Otani Kozui and the basis of his "Manchuria" cognition.The family culture that attaches importance to Sinology,the good foundation of Chinese culture,the long-term experience in China,the influence of Buddhist ideas and the ideal of overseas education expansion laid a foundation for the cognition of "Manchuria" of Otani Kozui.Combined with people’s evaluation of him at that time,we can form a simple understanding of him as a whole.The second part sorts out and analyzes the economic investigation and management plan of Otani Kozui on "Manchuria" region.Otani Kozui’s investigation was divided into before and after the establishment of manchukuo,covering various aspects of the economic development of Manchukuo.Business plans mainly involve immigration,agriculture,water conservancy and transportation,mining,industry and other aspects,planning how to obtain "Manchuria" resources,so as to enable Japan to achieve long-term development.The third part summarizes Otani Kozui’s theory and practice of "Manchuria" cultural colonization.Otani Kozui intended to split China,put forward the theory that "Manchuria" were not China,maintained the interests of Japan in "Manchuria",created the "justice" of Japan’s invasion of China,and carried out religious infiltration and held a number of cultural undertakings in northeast China.The fourth chapter is the evaluation of Otani Kozui’s cognition of "Manchuria".It mainly analyzes the relationship between Otani Kozui’s cognition of "Manchuria " and the Japanese War of aggression against China,religion and oriental studies.The author analyzes and interprets the cognitive root of Otani Kozui’s "Manchuria" by analyzing and combing the transformation and expansion of Japan in his time,as well as the ideological changes of his sect and the trend of Oriental Studies thought.As a special figure with a prominent position in Japan,Otani Kozui’s "Manchuria" cognition provided services for the Japanese imperialists’ invasion of Northeast China.
