| Local Chronicles and local textbooks are the primary school local textbooks that appeared in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.Different from custom records or township records,local records were compiled according to the Regulations of Zunding School issued by the Qing Court.The Local Records of Xi ’an County was compiled under the instructions of the Qing Government to compile local records in accordance with the regulations of the Local Records Catalogue issued by the Qing Academy,and the writingbackground covered the whole social and historical environment.As the first local Chronicles of Xi ’an County,Xi ’an County Local Chronicles is concise,practical and valuable in historical materials.However,the traditional Chinese characters used to be typeset vertically without punctuation,which is no longer in line with today’s reading habits.Therefore,the author makes some corrections to the original version,so as to make a contribution to the public’s in-depth understanding of the history of Xi ’an County local History.This paper will read the original copy of Xi ’an County Local History word by word and sentence by sentence repeatedly,on the basis of sorting out the contents of the book,to ensure that the text paragraphs are connected in order,and the sentences are smooth and easy to understand.First of all,the writing background and author’s life of Xi ’an County Local Records are studied,and the different versions of this record are identified in the process of spreading.Secondly,on this basis,through consulting relevant ancient books and literature,comparing different editions to find the existing problems of collation and correction.Then,it briefly introduces the compiling style and method of Xi ’an County Local Records.At the same time,this paper will analyze the contents of each part of Xi ’an County Local Records in detail,and reference the records of Xi ’an region in other Chronicles and historical books such as Shengjing General Records and Manchurian Origin and Flow Examination,and further dig out the historical sources of some historical information in Xi ’an County Local Records.Finally,the value and deficiency of Xi ’an County Local History will be discussed. |
