The Practice Of Seal Cutting Creation From The View Of Exhibition Hall

Seal cutting is an art with a long history.It has been developed from ancient seals for more than 3,000 years and is an important part of Chinese culture.To the contemporary gradually become a unique art category,is the perfect combination of calligraphy,seal script method,knife method,embodies the thousands of weather between the square inch.Since the beginning of the last century,with the change of people’s production and life style,the display of painting,calligraphy and seal cutting art has also changed.Seal cutting,like calligraphy,began to gradually break away from practical,from the study into the exhibition hall,and become a pure art form.The change of the exhibition environment has put forward higher requirements for the contemporary seal cutting.The "carving skills" of "strong men do not do" has become a comprehensive art integrating seal cutting,edge style,calligraphy inscription and printing screen design,which is the concentrated embodiment of the comprehensive cultivation of every seal cutting artist besides skills.Firstly,this paper makes a comprehensive survey of the Chinese seal cutting exhibitions in the past 40 years to grasp the seal cutting creation from the perspective of contemporary exhibition halls.Secondly,it analyzes the present situation and influence of contemporary seal cutting creation from the view of exhibition hall,and analyzes its achievements and shortcomings for my use.Finally,the author interprets his recent seal cutting works that are neither divorced from tradition nor in line with the view of contemporary exhibition halls.
