The Application And Research Of Material Innovation In Contemporary Book Design

The rapid development of science and technology has spawned the emergence of digital media,and the resulting e-books have changed people’s reading habits to a certain extent.Although the prevalence of E-books has not changed the essence of reading,it has had an impact on the physical book industry to a certain extent.However,e-books are easier to carry,but readers can feel the reading experience other than text information in paper books.E-books lack the material sense of paper books.In response to the challenges faced by books,contemporary book designers have shifted the focus of book design from the cover to the whole.Due to the increasing development and progress of science and technology,the types of materials are increasing,It gives designers more design space in books.Use the strong plasticity of materials to shape more book space forms;Make use of the texture and characteristics of the material itself to increase the texture feeling of the book and further trigger the readers’ visual and tactile feeling.Starting with the sense of experience of books,strengthen the material sense of books,so as to attract readers’ interest in reading.Materials act as a bridge between readers and books.Through the application of materials,designers improve the functional attributes of books,and give books new artistic value,which can comply with the development of design trend.The use of materials in book design also tends to be green and environmentally friendly.All kinds of recycled paper,degradable leather,bioplastics and other materials are applied to contemporary book design.In this study,the materials are classified.By collecting excellent design cases at home and abroad,the characteristics and texture of materials are analyzed to find the method of innovative application of materials,broaden the optional range of material application in book design,ensure the perfect combination of materials and books with the support of technology and technology,and realize the function of materials as information transmission to the greatest extent.At the same time,by combing the innovative application of materials,we seek the application ways to awaken readers’ senses and explore the development trend of materials,and hope to provide some valuable references for future book design.
