Research On Book Experience Design Based On Meaningful Reading

For various reasons,book design research in recent years has shown a trend toward experience design in both theory and practice,but due to the lack of a clear concept and theoretical foundation,this shift has always been a "latent" situation: everyone talks about it,but not explicitly.The reason for this is that there has been a tendency to treat books as "books".This is because people tend to see the integration of book design and experience design as the result of interdisciplinary research,and think that they have to "borrow" something from the field of experience design in order to do research on reading experience design,without noticing that the two are actually intrinsically related.Therefore,it is necessary to ask "What is reading experience? and " How to do book experience design? " The question of " What is the reading experience? All these phenomena are waiting for the arrival of experience design theory for book design.In response to this situation,the concept of "book experience design" was proposed.The aim of this concept is to clarify the fact that "book design is essentially experience design",and to clarify the nature of "reading experience" and the connotation and characteristics of book experience design,and to provide a practical theoretical solution for book experience design.By drawing inspiration from both Chartier’s reading research and Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics,the study answers the two main questions mentioned above.The study proposes a theory of "meaningful reading" inspired by the former.In the former,the study proposes the theory of "meaningful reading",which means that reading is the unification of experiential reading and receptive reading,and that these two forms of reading constitute the two sources of reading experience,and this provides a direction for the design of book experience.Moreover,based on the theory of meaningful reading,the study proposes the concept of "meaning work",which refers to the kind of work that helps to better communicate the meaning of the textual world and the reader’s world,and this concept clarifies the principles of book experience design.In this way,the study answers the question of "what is the reading experience".Inspired by the latter,the study proposes a "translational" character of book experience design,clarifying the nature of the designer’s meaningful work.On the basis of the "translation" feature,the study proposes two concepts,"material form understanding situation" and "creative text interpretation",which are important for establishing the methodology of book experience design.The two concepts of "material form understanding situation" and "creative textual interpretation" are important for establishing the methodology of book experience design.Finally,following the above-mentioned approach,the study proposes a methodology for book experience design,which are:(1)Design Methodology of "Material Form Understanding Situation" of BooksReading is by its nature a conversation that takes place in a book.Compared with direct conversation,book conversation has its inherent limitation,namely,the lack of vivid comprehension situations.Starting from this limitation,the study proposes that the fundamental task of book experience design is to rebuild the book comprehension situation and restore the vividness of conversation in books.The methodology works on the reader’s experiential reading.(2)Design Methodology of "Creative Textual Interpretation" of BooksBook conversation requires not only the context in which it occurs,but also the content of the conversation.The content includes both the verbal conversation from the author of the text and the experiential verbal conversation from the designer.The latter is "experiential conversation".Conversation is essentially a "question and answer".Therefore,similar to the way authors initiate conversation with "rhetoric," experiential conversation also starts from "rhetoric" and is a kind of rhetorical question and answer.This methodology works on the reader’s receptive reading.In this way,the study answers the question,"What should be done about book experience design? "...
