This thesis is guided by the French interpretive theory and uses the economic situation report made by Premier Li Keqiang at the16th national congress of the All-China Federation of the Trade Unions for empirical study. The author has invited ten students studying simultaneous interpretation at Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation of Beijing Foreign Studies University to do an experiment to study the influence of deverbalization on the quality of simultaneous interpretation and finally came up with the conclusion through qualitative and quantitative analyses that in the circumstance of frequent use of figurative expressions, the more deverbalizing the interpreter is, the higher the quality of interpretation will be.Interpretive theory came into being in the late1960s whose representative is Ms. Danica Seleskovitch; it significantly influenced the interpretative studies globally. This theory believes that the procedure for interpretation is from comprehension to deverbalization to expression. Simultaneous interpretation, with its communicative nature, requires an interpreter to analyze the content and conduct interpretation within a proper EVS.This thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter of introduction briefs on the realistic and academic significance of my study. The second chapter, Literature Review expresses the background, content and practice of interpretive theory and the related studies to this paper. The third chapter is my experiment; the fourth chapter reaches the conclusion.
