The Hongshan culture is mainly distributed in the western Liaoning area centered on the Xilamulun River,Laoha River and Daling River Basin, north to the southern foot of the Daxing’an Mountains, east to Yiwulu Mountain, and southwest to the vicinity of Yanshan Mountain. It is about 6500 to 5000 years ago.It occupies a very important position in the archaeological culture of western Liaoning and even the whole northeastern region.Since the Hongshan Culture was officially named in 1955,the academic circles have carried out extensive and in-depth discussions on many issues such as its age and period, cultural origin and flow, geographical type, and social nature.Academic research has become prosperous.achieve great results. However, the division of Hongshan culture types is still controversial in academic circles, and there are also some problems. There is rarely a division of types, etc.under the staging perspective. In view of the problems existing in the previous research, this paper analyzes the typical sites from the perspective of stages, observes the differences in pottery assemblages, decorations and other relics, and summarizes the differences in cultural appearance between different regions,so as to divide the Hongshan culture.Territory type.Using typology, cultural factor analysis, pottery making technology observation and other methods, combined with the relevant achievements of scientific and technological archaeology,it interprets the reasons for the emergence of Hongshan culture types, and discusses the regional identity and marginal areas of Hongshan culture. This is of great significance for further understanding and exploring the formation and development of Hongshan culture, the composition of cultural factors behind it,and the communication, interaction and collision of people. This paper consists of three parts: introduction, body and conclusion. The introduction part mainly introduces the relevant research results and existing problems of the Hongshan culture type in China. The significance of choosing this topic is expounded, the theory and method of writing this article are explained, and the twophase framework chosen for this article is explained. Finally, the innovations and inadequacies of this paper are put forward. The text is divided into three parts. The first part is the distribution and overview of the sites of Hongshan culture. The second part is the types and characteristics of the Hongshan Culture.Through the observation of the pottery assemblage and decoration of the sites in each period, combined with the appearance of other relics and the characteristics of regional distribution,it is found that the first period of the Hongshan Culture is bounded by the Xilamulun River. It is divided into two local types:Baiyinchanghan type and Xiaodongshan type.In the second phase, there is no major difference in the appearance of artifacts or other relics. The cultural appearances are similar, and regional identity has been achieved. The third part is about the emergence and development of the type of Hongshan culture.Using typology, analysis of cultural factors, observation of pottery making technology, and related achievements of scientific and technological archaeology,it explains the composition of Hongshan culture from two aspects: physical geography and cultural factors. The reasons for the emergence of the two types in the second phase of the Hongshan culture were analyzed and recognized, and the continuous identification of the regional types of the second phase of the Hongshan culture and its significance in the process of civilization were also investigated.Cultural change as a whole. The conclusion part summarizes some understandings of the article, points out the insufficiency and limitation of this study, and issues that need to be discussed in depth in future research.
