“Alzheimer’s disease(AD)” is an irreversible degenerative disease of the nervous system, which is called “senile dementia” in our daily life.Scholars from all walks of life have been committed to replacing this unfriendly title. However, the difference in naming only shows a friendly sense of respect, but can not subtract the cruelty of the disease.Because the brain damage caused by Alzheimer’s disease is irreversible. In addition to endangering people’s life, patients will gradually lose their memory and intelligence, lose dignity and dignity, and become a “person” who is neither alive nor death. At the same time, because of the particularity of this disease,Alzheimer’s disease also set a great challenge to family ethics. For a long time, the medical community has been looking for various ways to cure Alzheimer’s disease, but now it is still an unsuccessful battle; In the field of humanities,as the global aging phenomenon becomes more and more serious,it has increasingly attracted the attention of literary writers and directors.More and more literary works involved this special disease have emerged.Under the cross-cultural and interdisciplinary background, taking the literary writing about “Alzheimer’s disease” in Chinese and American literature as the research starting point, using the way of parallel research, standing in the position of equal dialogue between heterogeneous cultures and the principle of different cultural exchanges, through close reading, based on the relevant theories such as disease metaphor, thematic science and literary sociology, and taking "disease and narration" Taking the three clues of “disease and narration”,“disease and metaphor” and“disease and philosophy” as parallel main line to analyze the text contents of many Chinese and American literary works which involved Alzheimer’s disease,to excavate the metaphors and themes, commonalities, differences and reasons behind their disease writing,to better understand the value and significance of the disease writing of “Alzheimer’s disease” in Chinese and American literary works.I hope to provide an exploratory thinking for the future development of literature and medicine under the background of global aging, and contribute a modest force to the humanistic care of disease into reality. |
