A Comparative Study On The Metaphorical Writing Of Alzheimer’s Disease In China And Japan

As a disease of modern civilization,Alzheimer’s disease(AD)poses a great challenge to modern people’s concept of death,ethical awareness and family relations.Suspicious forgetfulness,cognitive impairment,mental deterioration,loss of ability and incurability are the important characteristics of this disease.It eventually points to death,and makes the patient experience the pain of losing dignity before death,even unable to maintain dignity at the moment of death.This disease causes the patients to experience the social and cultural death before their physical death,which is a metaphor for the loss of personal value and the extinction of individual history.As both Asian countries,they have experienced the infiltration and baptism of Confucian culture,uphold the concept of humanitarianism,and cherish the humanistic spirit of caring for the society.Chinese and Japanese writers have written about Alzheimer’s disease.This paper,through close reading,thematic study and Susan Sontag’s related concepts and theories on metaphor and disenchantment of diseases,analyzes several representative works in China and Japan,such as the gone man,Receiver not found,forgetting life and death,crazy sacrifice,Lu Yan guilty knowledge,trance man,memory of tomorrow,long farewell,mom,I’m sorry,my mother’s notes Starting from the text content of the restaurant with wrong dishes at the meeting,this paper mainly uses the method of parallel research to make a comparative study,which makes the literature of the two countries refer to each other.The introduction part puts forward questions,mainly explains the background of the topic and the innovative significance of the research,defines the research object,summarizes the research status,and expounds the research methods of this paper.The text is mainly divided into three parts: the first part focuses on the interpretation of the concept of "metaphor of disease",focuses on the metaphor of Alzheimer’s disease writing in Contemporary Chinese and Japanese literature,and analyzes the relationship between metaphor of Alzheimer’s disease writing and literary theme in China and Japan;the second part focuses on tracing the source of metaphorical differences in Alzheimer’s disease writing between China and Japan,and first analyzes its causes The similarities and differences of writing metaphors include the shame of writing objects on metaphors of Alzheimer’s disease,the metaphorical philosophy of writing style and Alzheimer’s disease,and the relationship between Metaphors of Alzheimer’s disease and history and future.Secondly,the differences between Chinese and Japanese literary metaphors are traced back to the historical culture,national psychology,ideology and other aspects of the two countries,including the comparative study of Confucian ethics and bushido spirit,"falling leaves to their roots" and "one period and one meeting" culture,collectivism and individualism;the third part is to solve the problem,mainly on the hidden meaning of Alzheimer’s disease writing in China and Japan Metaphor is used for disenchantment and reflection.Through the personal and social trauma brought by the metaphor of Alzheimer’s disease,we can see the care system and humanistic environment of the two countries,and realize the bridging and progress of civilization through cultural mutual learning.The memory and resistance behind the metaphor of literature writing of Alzheimer’s disease not only highlights the rebellious spirit and life value of human beings,but also has the cultural and practical significance of promoting modern society to take care of Alzheimer’s disease,as well as the existence value and philosophical spirit of human beings as a whole,which plays an indelible role in the evolution and continuation of civilization.The research on the writing metaphor of Alzheimer’s disease in modern and contemporary China and Japan will provide information and reference for the social and cultural exchanges between China and Japan,help to bring humanistic care and sense of responsibility into reality,and promote the torch of human history and civilization.
