Minimalism And My Exploration Of Painting Practice

With the rapid development of China’s economy,on the basis of increasingly satisfying material conditions,people’s pursuit of the spiritual world is becoming more and more obvious.Among them,art bears the brunt and has become the most sought after object.Whether it is art or music,it has become a relatively easy form of artistic expression in people’s daily life.Art comes from life,and ultimately still needs to return to life,which cannot be separated from the natural material basis of life.With the development of tourism,in my hometown,more and more tourists come to the land of Huizhou with white walls and black tiles,wandering in the Hui style buildings and forgetting to return.Every year,a large number of artists,art related students and other artists from all over the country come to Huizhou to carry out art creation and style collection activities.As one of them,the author has also carried out art creation in Huizhou for many times,and carried out style collection activities from the perspectives of painting,image and photography.At first,the author’s artistic creation also began to explore from the concrete.However,the more he explored,the more he felt that it was not integrated with his desired artistic practice,so he began to rethink the form of creation.Due to the author’s love for modernist design,especially influenced by the design concept of "less is more" of design master Mies van der Rohe,the author was very interested in minimalist design,In addition,most of the paintings in Huizhou are depicted from concrete realism and image creation,and the form of expression is relatively single.On this basis,the author wants to explore a new artistic practice by integrating Huizhou architecture with the minimalist expression in abstract painting.This paper takes Huizhou architecture as the natural material basis of creation,combines abstract painting and minimalist art to innovate and explore the painting practice of various media,from concrete painting to image,and then to a painting process and the transformation of creative ideas,and finally presents the works in the form of minimalist painting expression.
